1. What is the reason cited by the companies for wanting to hire Aboriginal people?

Employers may desire to hire Aboriginal people for a variety of reasons, and these

reasons may change based on the company's values, objectives, and unique

circumstances. There are some common reasons cited by companies for wanting to

hire Aboriginal people:

 Diversity and Inclusion: Numerous businesses encourage diversity in the workplace

and endeavour to foster welcoming settings. The inclusion of diverse viewpoints,

experiences, and cultural knowledge inside an organisation is made possible by the

hiring of Aboriginal people.

 Indigenous Cultural Understanding: Aboriginal workers frequently bring a special

awareness and understanding of Indigenous traditions, customs, and ways of life. As it

enables improved interaction, collaboration, and relationship-building with Indigenous

clients or stakeholders, this can be especially advantageous for businesses operating in

or serving Indigenous communities.

 Community Engagement: Employing Aboriginal individuals can improve a business'

relationships to and involvement in nearby Aboriginal communities. It displays a

dedication to promoting constructive connections, aiding in the process of

reconciliation, and helping Indigenous economic and employment development.

 Skills and Knowledge: Aboriginal people have a variety of skills and information that

can be useful to businesses. Traditional knowledge, linguistic proficiency, cultural

acuity, and knowledge in fields like land management, environmental sustainability,

arts and crafts, tourism, and more are all included in this.

 Corporate Social Responsibility: Aboriginal employment can be seen as a

component of a company's larger initiatives in corporate social responsibility.

Companies can contribute to social and economic development and assist alleviate

historical disadvantages encountered by Indigenous populations by offering

employment opportunities and promoting the economic well-being of Aboriginal

persons and communities.

2. Of the three initiatives described, which do you think will be most successful to

achieve these objectives? Why?

Comprehensive Diversity and Inclusion Programs:

This kind of project has a great chance of succeeding in its goals. Companies may

foster an atmosphere where Aboriginal employees feel valued, encouraged, and given

equal opportunities by concentrating on fostering an inclusive culture, addressing

biases, and promoting equality throughout the organization. A wide range of tactics,

including diversity training, inclusive policies, hiring procedures, mentorship

programs, and employee resource groups, are frequently used in comprehensive

diversity and inclusion programs.

These programmers’ all-encompassing strategies enable the systematic and all-

encompassing promotion of diversity and inclusion. The company can create an

environment where Aboriginal employees feel valued, encouraged, and given equal

opportunities by addressing biases through training and education, developing

inclusive policies and practices, and offering support and resources through mentoring

and employee resource groups.

Comprehensive programs for diversity and inclusion may also lead to long-lasting

changes within an organisation. These concepts can have a long-lasting impact and

help to create a workforce that is more diverse and inclusive if they are included into

the organization's culture, policies, and practices.
