Good morning to all of you. The reason we are gathered here is to understand the instructions given
on the school noticeboard about the training sessions for the coming 1st term school holidays project.

It is important that you know for sure which training session you have to attend. You should attend
the training according to your task, for example, pupils who bake cookies should attend the baking
sessions. If you have any question, you can ask me now.

Thank you for your attention.

(Question 1)

Suraiya, Jenny, Tom and Jason were in their school garden. That day was their duty to take care of
the plants in the garden.

They brought along shears, rake, garbage bags, seeds and trowels. Jason then assigned each of
them a task.

Suraiya gathered the dried leaves using a rake while Tom trimmed the bushes using a pair of
shears. Jason pulled out the weeds. Jenny planted some seeds in the pots.

After an hour, they had done their work. The garden was clean and neat. They were tired but happy.

(Question 2)

Susie and her mother were at the front door of the living room. They got a shock of their life to see
a big snake on the floor between the sofas.

Susie’s mother took her out of the house immediately. She asked Susie to watch the snake while
she made a call to 999. Susie watched the snake in fear.

Soon, some firefighters arrived. It was lucky that the snake didn’t move elsewhere. They entered the
house and caught the snake. They put it in a sack and carried it away. Susie’s mother thanked them for
their hard work.
