4:1 ‫ּתה‬
ָ ַ‫ְוא‬ ‫ֶבן‬ ‫אָ ָדם ־‬ ‫ַקח‬ ‫ְל ־‬ ‫ְל ֵבנָה‬ ‫ְונ ַָת ָּתה‬ ‫אתּה‬
ָ ‫ְלפָ נֶי‬

. Thou also, son of man,
u·athe bn - adm qch - l·k lbne u·nththe auth·e l·phni·k take thee a tile, and lay it
and·you son-of human take-you ! for·you brick and·you-give »·her to·faces-of·you before thee, and pourtray
upon it the city, [even]

ָ ֶ‫עָ ל‬ ‫ִעיר‬ ‫יְ רּוׁשָ לָ ִם ־ אֶ ת‬ : Jerusalem:

4:2 ‫ּתה‬
ָ ‫ְונ ַָת‬ ‫יה‬
ָ ֶ‫עָ ל‬ ‫ָמצר‬ ‫ית‬
ָ ִ‫ּובנ‬
ָ ‫יה‬
ָ ֶ‫עָ ל‬ ‫ָּדיֵק‬ ‫ְוׁשָ פַ ְכ ָּת‬ ‫יה‬
ָ ֶ‫עָ ל‬ ‫ֹללָ ה‬
ְ ‫ס‬

And lay siege against it,
u·nththe oli·e mtzur u·bnith oli·e diq u·shphkth oli·e slle and build a fort against it,
and·you-give on·her siege and·you-build on·her siege-work and·you-pour-out on·her earthwork and cast a mount against it;
set the camp also against it,
‫ְונ ַָת ָּתה‬ ‫יה‬
ָ ֶ‫עָ ל‬ ‫ַמחֲנת‬ ‫ְו ִׂשים‬ ‫יה ־‬
ָ ֶ‫עָ ל‬ ‫ּכָ ִרים‬ ‫ָס ִביב‬ : and set [battering] rams
against it round about.

and·you-give on·her camps and·place-you ! on·her butting-rams round-about

4:3 ‫ּתה‬
ָ ַ‫ְוא‬ ‫ַקח‬ ‫ְל ־‬ ‫ח ַבת‬
ֲ ‫ַמ‬ ‫ְונ ַָת ָּתה ַּב ְרזֶל‬ ‫אתּה‬
ָ ‫ִקיר‬ ‫ֵּבינְ  ַּב ְרזֶל‬

Moreover take thou unto
u·athe qch - l·k mchbth brzl u·nththe auth·e qir brzl bin·k thee an iron pan, and set it
and·you take-you ! for·you pan-of iron and·you-give »·her sidewall-of iron between·you [for] a wall of iron between
thee and the city: and set thy
‫ּובין‬
ֵ ‫ָה ִעיר‬ ‫ֹתה‬
ָ ‫ַוה ֲִכינ‬ ‫ּפָ נֶי ־ אֶ ת‬ ‫יה‬
ָ ֶ‫אֵ ל‬ ‫ְו ָהיְ ָתה‬ ‫ַב ָּמצר‬ face against it, and it shall
be besieged, and thou shalt
u·bin e·oir u·ekinthe ath - phni·k ali·e u·eithe b·mtzur
lay siege against it. This
and·between the·city and·you-cprepare » faces-of·you to·her and·she-becomes in·the·siege
[shall be] a sign to the
house of Israel.

ָ ַ‫ְוא‬ ‫ְׁשכַ ב‬ ‫ִצ ְּד ־ עַ ל‬ ‫אלי‬
ִ ‫ַה ְּׂש ָמ‬ ‫ְוׂשַ ְמ ָּת‬ ‫עֲן ־ אֶ ת‬ ‫ֵּבית‬ ‫־‬

Lie thou also upon thy left
u·athe shkb ol - tzd·k e·shmali u·shmth ath - oun bith - side, and lay the iniquity of
and·you lie-down-you ! on side-of·you the·left and·you-place » depravity-of house-of the house of Israel upon it:
[according] to the number
‫יִ ְׂש ָראֵ ל‬ ‫עָ לָ יו‬ ‫ִמ ְסּפַ ר‬ ‫ַהּי ִָמים‬ ‫אֲׁשֶ ר‬ ‫ִּת ְׁשּכַ ב‬ ‫עָ לָ יו‬ ‫ִּתּׂשָ א‬ ‫־ אֶ ת‬ of the days that thou shalt
lie upon it thou shalt bear

For I have laid upon thee
u·ani nththi l·k ath - shni oun·m l·msphr imim shlsh - mauth the years of their iniquity,
and·I I-give to·you » years-of depravity-of·them to·number-of days three-of hundreds according to the number of
the days, three hundred and
‫ְו ִת ְׁש ִעים‬ ‫ים‬ ‫את‬
ָ ָ‫ְונָׂש‬ ‫עֲן‬ ‫ֵּבית‬ ‫ יִ ְׂש ָראֵ ל ־‬: ninety days: so shalt thou
bear the iniquity of the

days: I have appointed thee

ֹ ְ‫ּוז‬ ‫חֲׂשּופָ ה‬

Therefore thou shalt set
u·al - mtzur irushlm thkin phni·k u·zro·k chshuphe thy face toward the siege of
and·to siege-of Jerusalem you-shall-cprepare faces-of·you and·arm-of·you being-bared Jerusalem, and thine arm
[shall be] uncovered, and

ָ ‫ְונִ ֵּב‬ ‫יה‬
ָ ֶ‫עָ ל‬ : thou shalt prophesy against
it.

And, behold, I will lay

and·behold ! I-give on·you ropes and·not you-shall-nturn from·side-of·you to shalt not turn thee from one
side to another, till thou hast

ְ ַ‫ּכ‬ ‫יְ ֵמי‬ ‫צּור‬
ֶ ‫ְמ‬ : ended the days of thy siege.

and·you take-you ! for·you wheats and·barleys and·bean and·lentils and·millet and·spelts beans, and lentiles, and

and·you-give »·them in·vessel one and·you-makedo »·them for·you for·bread number-of the·days [according] to the number
of the days that thou shalt
‫אֲׁשֶ ר‬ ‫ׁשכֵ ב אַ ָּתה ־‬ ‫ִצ ְּד ־ עַ ל‬ ‫ׁש‬/‫ְׁש‬ ‫ֵמאת ־‬ ‫ְו ִת ְׁש ִעים‬ ‫ים‬ ‫ּת ֹאכֲלֶ ּנּו‬ : lie upon thy side, three

which you lying-down on side-of·you three-of hundreds and·ninety day you-shall-eat·him shalt thou eat thereof.

4:10 ‫ּומאֲכָ ְל‬

ַ ‫אֲׁשֶ ר‬ ‫ּת ֹאכֲלֶ ּנּו‬ ‫ְּב ִמ ְׁשקל‬ ‫עֶ ְׂש ִרים‬ ‫ׁשֶ ֶקל‬ ‫לַ ּים‬ ‫ֵמעֵ ת‬ ‫עַ ד‬ ‫־‬

And thy meat which thou
u·makl·k ashr thakl·nu b·mshqul oshrim shql l·ium m·oth od - shalt eat [shall be] by
and·food-of·you which you-shall-eat·him in·weight twenty shekel for·the·day from·time unto weight, twenty shekels a
day: from time to time shalt

Thou shalt drink also

and·waters in·quantity you-shall-drink sixth-of the·hin from·time unto time part of an hin: from time to
time shalt thou drink.

And thou shalt eat it [as]
u·ogth shorim thakl·ne u·eia b·glli tzath e·adm barley cakes, and thou shalt
and·ember-cake-of barleys you-shall-eat·her and·she in·ordures-of excrement-of the·human bake it with dung that
cometh out of man, in their
‫ְּתעֻ ֶגנָה‬ ‫ֵיהם‬
ֶ ‫ְלעֵ ינ‬ : ‫ס‬ sight.

ְ ‫י‬ ‫ְבנֵי‬ ‫יִ ְׂש ָראֵ ל ־‬ ‫לַ ְח ָמם ־ אֶ ת‬ ‫טָ ֵמא‬

And the LORD said,
u·iamr ieue kke iaklu bni - ishral ath - lchm·m tma Even thus shall the children
and·he-is-saying Yahweh as·thus they-shall-eat sons-of Israel » bread-of·them unclean of Israel eat their defiled
bread among the Gentiles,
‫ַּבּגיִ ם‬ ‫אֲׁשֶ ר‬ ‫יחם‬
ֵ ‫אַ ִּד‬ ‫ׁשָ ם‬ : whither I will drive them.

Then said I, Ah Lord
u·amr aee adni ieue ene nphsh·i la mtmae u·nble GOD! behold, my soul hath
and·I-am-saying alas ! my-Lord Yahweh behold ! soul-of·me not being-mdefiled and·carcass not been polluted: for from
my youth up even till now
‫ּוט ֵרפָ ה‬
ְ ‫אָ כַ ְל ִּתי ־ ל ֹא‬ ‫עּורי‬
ַ ְ‫ִמּנ‬ ‫ְועַ ד‬ ‫ְול ֹא עַ ָּתה ־‬ ‫ָבא ־‬ have I not eaten of that
which dieth of itself, or is

torn in pieces; neither came
and·animal-torn-to-pieces not I-ate from·youths-of·me and·until now and·not he-came
there abominable flesh into

4:16 ‫ֹאמר‬
ֶ ‫וַּי‬ ‫אֵ לַ י‬ ‫ֶּבן‬ ‫אָ ָדם ־‬ ‫ִהנְ נִ י‬ ‫ׁש ֵבר‬
ֹ ‫ַמּטֵ ה‬ ‫לֶ ֶחם ־‬ ‫ִּבירּוׁשָ לַ ִם‬
16
Moreover he said unto
u·iamr al·i bn - adm en·ni shbr mte - lchm b·irushlm me, Son of man, behold, I
and·he-is-saying to·me son-of human behold·me ! breaking staff-of bread in·Jerusalem will break the staff of bread
in Jerusalem: and they shall
‫ְואָ ְכלּו‬ ‫לֶ ֶחם ־‬ ‫ְּב ִמ ְׁש ָקל‬ ‫ּוב ְדאָ גָה‬
ִ ‫ּומיִ ם‬
ַ ‫ׂשּורה‬
ָ ‫ִּב ְמ‬ ‫ּוב ִׁש ָּממן‬
ְ eat bread by weight, and
with care; and they shall
u·aklu - lchm b·mshql u·b·dage u·mim b·mshure u·b·shmmun
drink water by measure, and
and·they-eat bread in·weight and·in·anxiety and·waters in·quantity and·in·desolation
with astonishment:

That they may want
lmon ichsru lchm u·mim u·nshmu aish bread and water, and be
so-that they-shall-be-lacking bread and·waters and·they-are-desolated man astonied one with another,
and consume away for their
‫ְואָ ִחיו‬ ‫ָמּקּו‬
ַ ‫ְונ‬ ‫ַּבעֲנָם‬ : ‫פ‬ iniquity.
