EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
ELEMENTARY 2007-2013 Palina East Elementary School
Palina Junior High School was the pilot name of the school. Then in
1966, it became Palina Barrio High School. Finally in 1988, it was changed to
Palina East National High School by virtue of Executive Order 189 declaring
the nationalization of Barangay Schools under the Administrative Supervision
and control of the Department of Education Culture and Sports (DECS).
Initially, the school had four classrooms walled with slit bamboo and
neatly arranged coconut leaves. Its roots were also made of weaved coconut

“Never stop learning because life never stops teaching.” This quote
reflects on me as a future teacher. While you are teaching, you are learned
and what you learned, you teach it to your students. But, teaching requires a
lot of patience and dedication. After my experiences during my observation,
I’ve come to realize that teaching is not easy. Teaching is something you
need to be prepared physically, emotionally, spiritually, and mentally.
Weekly Journal
On the first day of our deployment in Palina East National High School
which is on October 17,2022, we’ve waited the UCU Faculty Members at the
gate of the school to endorse us. After the flag ceremony of the students,
suddenly the guard called us and said that we can have a sit at the social hall.
On the afternoon, Field Study Coordinator and a faculty member arrived to
formally endorse us to the School Principal. Then after the endorsement,
Tedie A. De Vera, the School Principal talked to us on what we will be going
to do. He also introduces us to the School Head Teachers in the office and he
let us too to introduce ourselves to them. Right after the introduction, he
immediately assigned us to our respective Resource Teacher. I introduced
also myself to my Resource Teacher. She informed me that she handles
Grade 10 and Grade 12 students. We have a small chitchat about anything.
On the second day October 18, 2022, I found out that there is Set A
and Set B classes because I requested the schedule of my Resource Teacher.
There is a morning and afternoon session students. For Set A, they were
attend the class every morning. For Set B, they were the afternoon session.
In every class, my Resource Teacher introduces me to them then I go to the
front to introduce myself to them in order to know me and what is my
purpose why I’m there.

to share our experiences during college years as to the challenges. On the
afternoon, my Resource Teacher let me to operate the television to watch the
educational movie entitled “Clash of Titans” to the students.

paper and I collected it.
On the next day, November 16, 2022, we facilitated the Senior High
School students during the Orientation of the “National Reading Month”
Program. In the afternoon, I assisted the Grade 7 students in conducting
Remedial Teaching in Literacy and Numeracy. I teach the Grade 7 student on
how to read. That student doesn’t know how to read the simple words and as
I observed him, he is easily distracted by his surroundings. He tends to look
around and doesn’t listening what I’ve saying. On the next day, November 17,
2022 I observed my Resource Teacher in discussing the topic. In the
afternoon, I assisted the students in practicing the Choric Speech for their
upcoming event next week.
In this week, this is the most tiring week we had during our FS
deployment wherein the school conducted a big event for English, Science,
and Filipino Festival. Monday morning of November 21, 2022, we facilitated
the flag ceremony. We assisted in hanging the tarpaulin at the gate of school
for the “18 Days Campaign to End Violence against Women”. After that we
proceed to our respective classroom and I facilitated the discussion and gave
the students an activity. In the afternoon, my fellow FS students and I
facilitated the Spelling Bee of Grade 7-12 students as a celebration to the
Science Festival.
Next day November 24, 2022, I facilitated and serves as a judge in the
Grade 7-12 students in conducting the Impromptu Dramatic Reading as
celebration of the English Festival. So it is my first time to be a judge that is
why I’m grateful for giving that opportunity. There are a lot of students who
joined in that event so we conducted in the whole day.
On the next day, December 06, 2022, Mr. Tedie A. De Vera conducted
a meeting to all of FS students together with our assigned Resource Teacher.
He asks us on what we have learned and observed in the Palina East National
High School as well as to the students we handled. Supposedly, it should be
our last week as FS students but the school principal assigned us to do the
Final Demo Exit. After the meeting, my Resource Teacher helps and assists
me in doing my Detailed Lesson Plan that needs on our Final Demo Exit. She
coaches me on how to deliver my topic well.
On the next day, December 07, 2022 I assisted the students in making
their parol because it is a contest in the entire school. In the afternoon, I
observed my students in practicing for the Tugsayawit as prior to the contest
for YES-O Camp.

We are obliged to have our Final Demo Exit that is why we extended of
1 day. I had my Final Demo in the afternoon at the Grade 10-Gold students.
My topic is about the literary pieces during Renaissance which is entitled
“Laura” by Francisco Petrarch. In this demo, I don’t think that it negatively. I
accepted it positively and thinking that it my advantage because I have the
experience for my future internship. After the demo, the School Head
Teacher, Master Teacher, and my Resource Teacher who observed me gave
their comments about it.

Introduction
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
ELEMENTARY 2007-2013 San Joaquin Elementary School
It was sometime in the year 1997, when a group of men and women had
envisioned the founding of an institution of learning that would cater quality
secondary education for the youth in this part of the province. Through their vision
and wisdom, they came together, and with teamwork and unity, they have
endeavored and dedicated themselves towards the full realization of their fondest
dreams. With the founding and construction of the school building, later known as
the Balungao National High School, this group of men and women had given their
best legacy to the town of Balungao and its towns’ people.
It was the then Congressman Ranjit Ramos Shabani of the 6th Congressional
District of Pangasinan, who, because of his genuine concern for the welfare of his
constituents, bad spearheaded this move by making possible, through his
Countryside Development Fund (CDF), the release of the needed and necessary
funds for the construction of a five classroom building in a wide and spacious school
site within the town proper suitably located for the education of the youth. In

response to the needs of those times, the then Municipal Government headed by the
Municipal Mayor of Balungao, Pangasinan, Hon. Hermenegildo C. Libantino, also
made possible the donation of a municipal lot as the site wherein the Balungao
National High School presently stands. Kudos and hail to them and to the others
who had sown the seeds in this regard, the fruits of which we are now harvesting.
The enrolment of the school of 250 students when it was opened for
operation during the school year 1997-1998 had multiplied four fold with its
enrolment of 1061 during the school year 2015-2016. It is presently manned by 45
strong, very active, dedicated and very competent teachers and staff, who, with
their hard work and devotion to their duties, coupled with the all-out support of the
government officials, and the public, in general, will surely make Balungao National
High School, to become, sooner or later, one of the most prestigious secondary
institutions in the province of Pangasinan.

Reflection
The field study journey is both a difficult and enjoyable experience. This
journey broadened my perspective on the teaching profession. It put my skills and
abilities to the test. I am overjoyed to have the opportunity to participate in this type
of training, and I am even more grateful to have met good people who will assist me
throughout the process. Balungao National High School is an excellent training
ground, with a calm and welcoming atmosphere. The teachers there are so nice and
approachable; they all treat me like I'm part of their family, for which I will be
eternally grateful.
I've dealt with a wide range of student personalities and learned how to
manage and deal with them. Teaching students takes a lot of patience, but my
Resource Teacher is always there to help me with classroom management and to
encourage me to be more patient. With her help, I've become a better person, and
she's helped me expose myself to our students. She instructs me and shares
different teaching strategies for effectively teaching students.
I will cherish the memories that this journey provided me with and apply all of
the knowledge that I have gained in the process of becoming a wonderful educator.

INTRODUCTION
The community and school systems are mostly observed for the student
teaching portfolio. The student has been introduced to the school's setting and
organizational structure, and they will watch how other students behave in the
actual classroom.
Its goal is to establish a link between the academic theories and how they are
used in practice. Student teachers will be guided to choose whether teaching is the
right career choice by early field study.
This program aims to provide students with practical field experience under
the supervision of cooperating professors. The collaborating teachers lead us
through the process, assisting us in picking up new skills, improving, and correcting
errors. By progressively introducing us to their future surroundings, it also helps
prepare student teachers who are being thrown into the profession.
After all, I discovered that teachers are required to take part in all school
functions as members of the faculty. Not just for the sake of the school's well-being,
but also for the advancement of our knowledge and abilities. Teachers also interact
with one another in this way.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
BADIPA National High School is now the second biggest public high school in
terms of its population in Urdaneta City Division with 842 enrollees. The School’s
Beginnings Its history began when Dr. Pedro T. Orata of Brgy. Bactad, Urdaneta,
Pangasinan founded the Barangay High Schools in the year 1965-1966 with his main
goal to help the students from the barangay to enroll and finish their secondary
education with free tuition fees and less allowance and free fare expenses.
According to Dr. Teofidez E. Calvero, one of the pioneers in the establishment of
Badipa Barangay High School, and Mrs. Flordeliza M. Palacio, an alumnus and former
teacher of the school, Badipa Barangay High School started its operation in 1966
with Mr. Lino A. Caringal as the Principal of Urdaneta Community High School (now
the Urdaneta City National High School) and the overall principal of all Barangay
High Schools. The principals of the Elementary Schools were designated as the
OIC/assistant principal in the barangay high schools in the absence of the overall
principal. There were only three (3) barangay high schools which first operated
namely, Bactad, Cabuloan and Cabaruan Barangay High School. Having witnessed
the successful operation of the above-named schools, the people of Bayaoas, Dilan
Paurido and other Urdaneta barrios also wanted to open their own secondary
schools. In 1966, Badipa Barangay High School as its former name was founded
together with thousands of barangay high schools in the country. Its name was
derived from the two barangays of Urdaneta where the students are mainly from,
Bayaoas for BA and Dilan-Paurido for DIPA. Through the initiative of the Barrio
Council, the Parent Teachers Association and the coordination and leadership of Mr.
URDANETA CITY COLLEGE of
TEACHER EDUCATION
UNIVERSITY
Owned and operated by the City Government of Urdaneta
Jose Q. Lorica, the acting principal of Badipa Elementary School and his teaching
staff, they crafted a resolution for the setting up of the Badipa Barangay High
School. After completing the requirements for the establishment of rural secondary
school, this new school opened its doors to first year students during School Year
1967-1968. After its opening, some of the students of Urdaneta Community High
School who were from Barangay Bayaoas and Dilan-Paurido were asked to return to
Badipa Barangay High School to continue their second year and succeeding high
school years. The school has produced its first batch of graduates in the year 1970
with Filipina E. Manuel as Valedictorian and Gloria D. Ballesteros as Salutatorian who
were both residents of barangay Bayaoas. Badipa Barangay High School prospered
through the years and became a complete secondary school during the school year
1967-1968. The batch who completed their stay in school from first year to fourth
year was the batch of Dr. Teresita L. Locquiao who was then the class valedictorian
now an Education Program Supervisor for kindergarten at SDO Urdaneta City and
Madam Flordeliza M. Palacio as the class salutatorian in 1971 Following Dr. Pedro T.
Oratas’ innovative plans for Barangay High Schools, rooms then which were not
being used by elementary pupils were used by high school students. Facilities such
as the library, the Home Economics (H.E.) building, the school garden, the clinic and
other facilities and equipment in the elementary school were commonly shared by
both elementary and high school learners. Mr. Jose Q. Lorica, the Principal of Badipa
Elementary School, served as the Officer-In-Charge (OIC) of Badipa Barangay High
School in S.Y. 1966-1967. Under his supervision were Mrs. Lourdez Alejo and Mr.
Jose Miranda who served as regular teachers. Later, the school was provided
additional part time teachers to teach the other subjects and help in other school
services. Mr. Teofidez E. Calvero handled English, General Science, Algebra and
Physics, Mr. Florencio Duzon taught Practical Arts, while Miss Aida Ereso and Miss
Anisteta Pasig handled Home Economics classes, and Mrs. Irenea L. Calvero served
as School Librarian and Clinic Teacher. School’s Transformation With the rapid
increase in enrolment, it became a necessity for the school to have its own grounds
and buildings, during the school year 1968-1969, the Parents Teachers Association
President Jose Bergado, the barangay council of Dilan-Paurido headed by Mr. Rufo

Locquiao, Mr. Ramon Manuel, barangay captain of Bayaoas and the Badipa
Elementary School teaching staff pooled their resources to purchase a 300 – meter
lot owned by Mr. Emilio Siquig just at the western perimeter of the elementary
school. His son Paulino Siquig, later joined the faculty of Badipa Barangay High
School who was teamed-up with Mr.Florencio Duzon as Practical Arts teacher and
Mr. Gregorio Locquiao teaching Agriculture to high school students. In 1987, by
virtue of Executive Order 189 declaring all Barangay High Schools to be nationalized,
the school was renamed BADIPA
