To ensure that local ministers receive accurate information in reference to NFISD. Increase Involvement. To enhance the current relationship between churches and NFISD To offer resources that will assist them in collaborating with the district as it relates to after school programs To inform ministers of whats taking place and changes implemented district-wide on a monthly basis

One yearly grant workshop to educate ministers on grants available for faith based institutions Ministers breakfast for the fall and spring semester to highlight new programs and to interact with students Monthly E-Mail blast. Mail monthly newsletter (School Zone), Points of Pride, Board Review, monthly calendar Monthly E-Mail blast. Mail monthly newsletter (School Zone), Points of Pride, Board Review, monthly calendar FUN (Family University Network) classes will be offered monthly for parents one day a week beginning in September 2009. Classes will range from C-Scope curriculum, Home buying and much more. A web page will also be set-up.

To increase parental involvement throughout the district

Monthly campus PTA meetings/VIPs. Each semester (fall and spring) a Volunteer Fair will be held. Annual Grandparents Day will be observed throughout the district once a year

To increase parental involvement and attendance at sporting events To communicate to parents activities taking place throughout the district; to update parents on activities that have taken place throughout the district To communicate zoning changes taking place throughout the district

Game theme nights will be hosted each week during games in conjunction with NFHS Monthly publications will be mailed to parents who have signed up to receive publications

Bi monthly meeting will be held to explain upcoming zoning changes as a result of elementary school mergers and closures Supe and Sandwich forums will be scheduled each semester to allow parents an opportunity to meet with the superintendent. Parents will also have the opportunity to voice their concerns through the Johnsons Journal portal.

To allow parents to voice their concerns to the superintendent and key administrators

Once a month on a specified day for one hour parents and community members will have the opportunity to chat with the superintendent on various topics External: Senior Citizens To increase participation in activities throughout the district Senior Gold cards will be distributed to seniors to encourage participation in school and district events (i.e. free admission to one football game, half off lunch in a school cafeteria, free admission to one theater arts events, free admission to volunteer) Seniors will have an opportunity to Read to elementary students Seniors in the community will be invited to volunteer in the school of their choice throughout the school year To interact and build a stronger relationship between the senior community and the school district A Lunch and Learn Day will be held for seniors in conjunction with Houston Community College where seniors will have the opportunity to take various classes such as golfing, horticulture, etc.

To give seniors in the community an opportunity to volunteer in schools

Seniors will spend a day at the high school volunteering in the morning and during the afternoon they will enjoy manicures and haircuts performed by CTE students Thanksgiving or Christmas luncheon To educate the senior community on various topics as it relates to the school district External: Media Inform media of events taking place throughout the district, and various campuses Key Communicators Conference to be held once each semester (fall and spring) All website stories will be submitted to media outlets in the form of a press release Hold press conferences for major events taking place throughout the district Meet with media outlet news directors once a year External:
Community / Civic Organizations

To inform community/civic organizations of events taking place throughout the district and to ensure that they receive accurate and up-todate information

Once each semester the superintendent and other key cabinet members will visit civic and community organizations to share information about the district

Civic and community organization presidents will received monthly district publications by mail Civic and community organization presidents will be invited monthly to chat with the superintendent Civic and community organization presidents will also be invited to attend Supe and Sandwich Civic and community organization presidents breakfast will be held each semester Superintendent and other key staff will attend the NF Chamber of Commerce meetings Superintendent and other key staff will attend the North Houston Greenspoint Chamber of Commerce meeting monthly Each month key staff members will contact civic club and community members as a part of Rumor Control to ensure that stakeholders receive accurate information

External: Alumni

To engage alumni in district affairs and to build a relationship between alumni and the district

Alumni can be nominated for Alumni Focus, a feature section in the districts newsletter and online Organize a NFISD Alumni Association Alumni will be invited to serve as mentors for NFISD Invite alumni to participate in campus Career Day

External: Business Community

To seek sponsorship for various campaigns and events hosted by the district

I AM North Forest Billboard Campaign Its Where You Want to Be Billboard Campaign NFISD Broadcast Communications Campaign NFISD Education Foundation Teacher of the Year Gala Casino Night for Teacher Appreciation

Develop a business partner package for raising funds for various attendance incentives to increase attendance on all campuses

$1 for Kids Campaign Vendors will also be asked to give donations for various attendance incentives

Leave A Legacy Campaign To build a stronger relationship between North Forest and the business community To seek support to purchase electronic marquees for various campuses throughout the district Once a year NFISD will host a business partners luncheon

A letter will be mailed and emailed to all vendors seeking sponsorship for electronic marquees
