Study Plan

My name is Lubna Khanam, a 28-year-old woman from Pakistan. I hold a Bachelor of Botany
degreewith a major in virology and bacteriology. I successfully completed my undergraduate
studies in 2018at the Mirpur University of Science and Technology.

By nature, I am socially active. I can quickly adapt to changing situations. I have a “Never give
up” attitude. I always work hard and put all my efforts to reach my set goals. I can work even
under pressure. I am friendly and spend time with my family and friends. I enjoy working with
professors aswell as with friends, so I wish to learn new things. I always help others with true
effort and dedication.

My interest in Laboratory Techniques in Biology was ignited in 2014 during my first year of
study of Engineering. Immediately I realized how crucial the field is to developing countries like
Pakistan. Among many issues, it is stipulated that most Pakistan Biology fields are
underdeveloped because it iscommon to adopt policies that work for other countries instead of
formulating policies specifically tailored for the specified Pakistan economy. For this reason,
my main goal is to deepen my understanding and knowledge of Biomedical Engineering which
will build a solid foundation for me to partake in groundbreaking research that will have
significant policy implications for the developingeconomy of my country.

In the pursuit of my undergraduate degree I studied various courses of Biology, the main courses
include Food Conservation, Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry,
Cellular Biology, Plant Biochemistry, Genetics, Environmental Biology, Biostatics, and
Introduction to computers, Microbiology, Industrial Micro-Biology.
In addition, as a student, I loved to step out of my studies by joining the women’s Badminton team
and Learning more about the nature around me. I also took up leadership roles in small
organizations on campus in order to polish my leadership skills but it is not enough that is why I
am constantly seekingopportunities that will prepare me for influential leadership roles in the near
future. Personally, I am an adventurous lady who loves visiting and fitting into new environments.
I enjoy meeting new people of diverse cultures because the experiences polish my interpersonal
and communication skills which Ibelieve are the main things that contribute to my growth as a
social woman.
After graduation, I secured a job as a monitoring and Lecturer at different colleges in Barnala
BhimberAJK, Pakistan. The job is mainly centered on statistical skills as testing and design of
research tools are crucial to the job. The job has helped me build practical skills in quantitative
research.

STUDY PLAN IN CHINA:

After completion of my master’s studies, I hope to be able to take part in maximizing my

country’s Biology research in such fields to benefit its policy formulation and adjustments.
This will contributeto a sound economy that will improve the poor living standards of the
people. I believe that this Master’s Program will provide me with a solid understanding of the
fundamental tools of BiomedicalEngineering that are employed to conduct rigorous research
on economic issues and economic policies.I hope that I can gain more experience in dealing
with situations, people, and demands which will be of great help in my future career.

Biomedical Engineering (Medicine), both theoretical and empirical, can generate important
insights into individual and aggregate behavior and relationships, and help in society’s efforts
to use scarce resources in a more efficient manner for the sake of development. Such
knowledge and skills will enable me to attempt to explore some of the economic challenges
peculiar to some of the poorest countries in the world. By acquiring such skills, I will have
the opportunity to apply the tools of financial analysis to the problems and challenges facing
Medical in Pakistan, and to begin tounderstand why my country has not been able to go
through a process of economic and human development.

REASONS TO STUDY IN CHINA:

China’s heavy investment in education has resulted in the provision of high-quality education and its
universities have a high reputation which makes a great aspiration to the students and professionals for
better career perspectives. As someone whose sole interest lies in Biomedical, China being a Medical
powerhouse provides the perfect environment for the study and research in Biomedical Engineering.

China will provide me with an opportunity to meet imminent researchers in this field and being part of its

research community will allow me to acquire invaluable transferable skills which I can tailor
and apply in my country.

China as a country is also iconic to me due to its bilateral relations with Pakistan. The fact that
China is promoting trade and peace with Pakistan makes it a comfortable destination to pursue
a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering.

In addition, of great interest to me is China’s diverse, vibrant, and well-preserved culture. It

would behonorable to learn and live the norms and values of the Chinese people as well as
appreciate the greatcuisines of China.

In conclusion, I am looking forward to your favorable consideration and I look forward to your
reply.
