(*Remember- Both words are one verb in Spanish!
Example: “yo desayuno”- it means “I have breakfast”.)

(Remember: both words are one verb in Spanish! Example: “Ellos cenan”- it means “They have dinner”.

Terminar- To finish
Tomar- To eat, to drink or to take
Caminar or andar- To walk
Cuidar ( de ) or (a)- To take care ( of)
Pasear To go for a walk
Preparar ( la cena)- To prepare ( the dinner)
Aprender- To learn
Comprender- To understand
Recibir- To receive
Contestar -To answer ñ
Invitar To invite
Practicar- To practice
Acabar de- “just” Example: I just ate- acabo de comer
Ganar- To win
Cruzar- To cross

IRREGULARES

SER ____TO BE___ soy, eres, es, somos sois son


*Remember:
We use: verbo ser + DE for saying our nationality.
Por ejemplo: ¿De dónde eres? Soy de España.

TENER: To have Tengo, tienes, tiene, tenemos, tenéis, tienen


*Remember:
“Tener”+ que + infinitive = Express obligation.
Por ejemplo: Tengo que estudiar español= I have to study spanish. Tiene que ayudar en casa = He/she has to study at
home.

IR _____TO GO__ voy, vas, va, vamos, váis, van.


*Remember:
- El verbo “ir” goes followed by “A”. Ejemplo: Voy a la escuela.
- A+EL=al Ejemplo: Va AL gimnasio
- IR + A + infinitive = near future
Ejemplo: Voy a comer=I am going to eat.
Vamos a estudiar=We are going to study.

GUSTAR __TO LIKE___ (a mí) me gusta, (a tí) te gusta,( a él, a ella o a usted) le gusta,(a nosotros) nos gusta, (a
vosotros) os gusta, ( a ellos, a ellas, a ustedes) les gusta.
*Remember:
-You can use the short way (“Me gusta”) or the long way (“A mí me gusta”)
-Don’t forget the “A” if you write the personís name. Por ejemplo: A María le gusta esquiar= María likes to ski.
- When “the thing” that you/she/they like is plural you should add an “N” to gusta. Por ejemplo: A mi hermano LE
gustan las computadoras= Mi brother likes computers. (Donít forget to put the “definite article” “The”)

VENIR -TO COME-Vengo, vienes, viene, venimos, venís, vienen


*Remember:
- Normally, “venir goes follow by “DE=from”. Por ejemplo: vengo de la escuela.
- DE+EL=DEL. Por ejemplo: Venimos DEL gimnasio.
DECIR ñ to say or to tell- digo, dices, dice, decimos, decís, dicen
*Remember:
- Normally “decir” goes follow by QUE=that. Por ejemplo: María dice que no tenemos mucho tiempo para estudiar.

**OIR - TO HEAR_- oigo, oyes, oye, oímos, oís, oyen


*Remember:
When we have a VERB+PEOPLE, we should write A between the verb and the people (this rule happen with more vebs
that “oir”. Por ejemplo: Oigo A Saila. Ayudo A mis padres. Visitamos A mis abuelos.

* Hay when it means there is or there are.


Por ejemplo: Hay cuatro sillas en la clase.
Hay un ordenador en mi casa.
También usamos “hay + que” for impersonal sentences:
Por ejemplo: Hay que limpiar la casa (we are taking in general, no one in particular)

IRREGULARES “YO”

Estar__to be (places, feelings…)___- Estoy


Hacer __to do/ make ___- Hago
Hacer ejercicio- to (do) exercise- Example: Yo hago ejercicio
Conocer __to know (People (follow by A)/ and Places “PP”) __ conozco
Saber- to know (indformnation or how to do something)- sé
salir- to go out or to leave- salgo
ofrecer- to offer- Ofrezco
dar- to give- doy, das, da, damos, dais dan
traer- to bring- traigo
Poner- to put, or to put on pongo
Ver - to see - veo, ves, ve, vemos, veis, ven.

Stem-changing o verbos bota.

** seguir- to follow to continue ( drops the u)- This verb is: stem changing and also irregular in “ yo”- Sigo, sigues,
sigue, seguimos, seguís, siguen

Jugar ______TO PLAY

Verbos reflexivos:(“yourself”)

Afeitarse- to shave
Bañarse- to have a bath
Ducharse- to have a shower
Lavarse- to wash yourself
Despertarse – to wake up
Levantarse- to get up
Maquillarse- to put make up on
Peinarse- to comb yourself
Ponerse ( la ropa)- to put something on
Secarse- to dry yourself

Me duermo, te duermes, se duerme, nos dormimos, os dormis, se duermen

**Acostarse( o-ue) - TO GO TO BED

**Despertarse (e-ie) -TO WAKE UP


Me despierto, te despiertas, se despierta, nos despertamos, os despertais, se despiertan
