Legal and Ethical issues
regarding social media

• What is Social Media?

Social media is a type of technology that allows people to
communicate, connect, and share information online. It's
like an online community where people can create, share,
and exchange information, ideas, and content with others.

followers, as well as follow other users and engage in conversations.
Instagram:
A photo and video-sharing app where users can upload and edit pictures and videos,
follow other users, and explore content through hashtags.
LinkedIn:
A professional networking site where users can create a profile, connect with other
professionals, search for jobs, and share industry news and insights.
3
social media platforms are:

What is legal and
ethical issues

Legal issues are problems or disputes that arise within the context of laws and regulations. They involve
determining whether certain actions or behaviors are legal or illegal, and whether they comply with applicable laws
and regulations.

Ethical issues, on the other hand, are related to moral principles and values that govern human conduct. They
involve determining whether certain actions or behaviors are right or wrong, and whether they comply with ethical
standards and norms.

While legal and ethical issues are related, they are not the same thing. Something that is legal may not always be
ethical, and something that is ethical may not always be legal. For example, it may be legal for a company to pay
low wages to its employees, but it may not be ethical to do so. Similarly, it may be ethical to protect the privacy of
a client's personal information, but it may not be legal to disclose that information without the client's consent.
