ARGUMENTATIVE ESSAY

Writing as of the macro skills in English is very important. The ability to put words down
on paper is difficult if the skills are not acquired properly.
So as a teacher, how can one teach more effectively? empowered citizens. 
First, to teach effective writi ng, a teacher must be an effecti ve writer. As a
saying goes, we can't teach what we don't know, and when it comes to writi ng, it's
important to continue honing our craft . If you haven't engaged in much formal
writi ng since college, you will remain a less effecti ve writi ng teacher. No matter what
you teach, share your written work. I always share with my students and ask for their
feedback -- even their criticism. In that respect, it's essenti al for students to
recognize not only your skill, but also your interest and engagement in constantly
refi ning a crucial life skill. 
Next, to enhance the skills related to evaluative and research-based writing a teacher
must open all doors of opportunity for learners to understand and eventually learn about
research. I will only be possible if we could change the mindset of the learners when it comes to
research, specially in secondary level. Likewise, teachers must also engaged themselves to
different training and seminars to enhance knowledge and understanding about research to be
able to share it to their learners.
In addition to, there is a possibility or greater chance of creating positive outlook
towards academic writing among our learners by showing them that writing is not difficult.
Teachers may give scaffold activities that will further enhance learners’ skills. Then, motivation
will also help in giving learners a boost in writing. Another thing is inculcating technology to
make their task easier and faster.
Lastly, poor writing skills is indeed a long time problem in education. I think this could be
solved if this was given priority in elementary level. I firmly believe that a strong foundation is
the main solution to existing problem in education. For me, basic knowledge must solely the
focus of learner during those year. Reading, writing and counting are considered basic before
introducing them to a complex lesson. Then, a clear and concise writing program will eventually
strengthen their skills in writing. As I observed and compared elementary pupil are already
given bombarded activities and task that are not necessary for their age. This problem resulted
to negligence in skills that should be prioritized. However, given the fact that the problem
already exist all we can do is to enhance their writing skills using the different strategies and
techniques being used by teachers.
Most importantly, teachers must do whatever they can to convey the
importance and usefulness of writi ng more effecti vely. No matter what craft or
profession students wish to pursue, teachers should make it clear at every turn that
knowing how to write well will play a signifi cant role in their success.
