* What is FabFilter Pro-C 2?

FabFilter Pro-C 2 is a professional compressor plug-in with very high quality

sound, flexible side chain options, beautiful program-dependent compression styles
and a stunning user interface.

For more information, see www.fabfilter.com/products or refer to the Introduction

chapter in the FabFilter Pro-C 2 help file.

* What's new in FabFilter Pro-C 2.08?

Fixed crash on right-clicking the side chain EQ controller.

Fixed interface size issues in Cubase 10 when using 150% High DPI scaling on
Windows.

* What's new in FabFilter Pro-C 2.07?

Added visualization of the plug-in input and output levels on Pro Tools control
surfaces.

Made the Oversampling and Lookahead Enabled parameters non-automatable, to prevent

automation from changing the latency during playback.

Fixed a bug that could cause the plug-in to stay in a triggered state if Enable
MIDI is turned off while the plug-in is currently triggering on a MIDI note.

Updated plug-in for full compatibility with Mac hosts built specifically for macOS
10.14 (Mojave), such as Logic Pro 10.4.4, running under macOS 10.14.0 or 10.14.1.
Previously this could lead to an all-black plugin interface.

Improved the way settings are saved when multiple plug-in instances are open to
make sure the last setting that was chosen is saved correctly for new instances.
Added support for 300% scaling on 8K displays (High DPI) on Windows.

Fixed an issue that could cause incorrect scaling of the plug-in interface in
Cubase 10 or Live 10 on High DPI displays in combination with certain graphics
drivers on Windows.

Added a Refresh item to the Options submenu of the presets menu: this makes it
possible to manually refresh the menu and the V1 Preset Folder submenu after a
preset has been saved by an earlier plug-in version.

Fixed a bug on Mac that could cause program changes received by one plug-in to be
forwarded to other FabFilter plug-in instances.

Various minor bug fixes and improvements.

* What's new in FabFilter Pro-C 2.06?

The VST 2.4 plug-in will now automatically adapt its channel layout to match the
audio/track it is placed on. Note that the separate "(Mono)" version of the plug-in
is still included for backwards compatibility.

Fixed possible crashes in Logic Pro X, where it would occasionally try to

initialize plug-ins with invalid/uninitialized buffers.

Fixed possible crash in Nuendo 7 on macOS when closing a plugin.

Fixed issues with key stroke stealing on Windows 10 when using the Avid S6 control
surface.

Small bug fixes and improvements.

* What's new in FabFilter Pro-C 2.05?

Updated the AAX plug-in to enable the dynamics display on the Avid S6 console.

Improved Avid S6 page tables mappings in the AAX plug-in, now more closely
following Avid's conventions for a better workflow.

Fixed a bug that caused the plug-in interface to use more memory than needed if the
display was not enabled.

Added a workaround for a bug in Ableton Live that causes latency compensation to
work incorrectly when loading a session that sets the parameters such that the
plug-in doesn't have latency, in combination with a default preset that does
introduce latency. This only occurred with the VST plugin format and caused Live to
use the latency from the default preset.

* What's new in FabFilter Pro-C 2.04?

Fixed issues with macOS Sierra on the new MacBook Pro (Late 2016) with Touch Bar,
that could cause the host to become unresponsive or crash after exiting Full Screen
mode or closing a plug-in window.

* What's new in FabFilter Pro-C 2.03?

Linked control changes using the Alt key now also work when using the mouse wheel.

Fixed a bug that caused text with multiple lines (such as the help hint label) to
miss the last line of text on macOS Sierra (10.12).

Improved mouse wheel behavior on Windows with stepped parameters, e.g. on drop-down
buttons.

Added a workaround for a bug in macOS Sierra (10.12) that prevented the help file
from opening correctly. The help file is now displayed in a web browser rather than
the Help Viewer.

Fixed an issue in the AAX plug-ins that could cause loss of existing automation
data when writing automation in Automation Preview mode, for example when creating
or deleting bands in Pro-Q 2.

Fixed a bug in the AAX plug-ins that caused parameter values that are very close to
the default value to remain at the default value when loading a session.

Updated Windows help file to display correctly on High DPI monitors.

Fixed a bug in the VST3 plug-ins when restoring a session in FL Studio 12 using a
custom display scaling factor such as 125%: the plugin window could end up at the
wrong size.

Small bug fixes and improvements.

* What's new in FabFilter Pro-C 2.02?

Restored support for Windows XP.

Added a workaround for a bug in Logic's AU validation tool on OS X 10.6 up to 10.8

that could cause Logic to fail to recognize the AU plug-in.

Enabled High DPI support on Windows versions prior to Windows 8.1.

Fixed a bug in the VST3 version of the plug-in that could cause a crash in FL
Studio and possibly other hosts after removing a plug-in from a session or closing
a session.

Fixed possible dropouts in the real-time level display when using a large host
buffer size such as 4096.

Fixed a bug in the AAX and RTAS versions of the plug-in that prevented the Wet Gain
and Dry Gain parameters to be available for mapping by Pro Tools.

Fixed a bug that could cause the side chain EQ Mid band to stay enabled, even while
the whole Side Chain section was disabled.

Fixed a bug in the AAX plug-in that caused it to show up as '2' in Mini track view
in Pro Tools, instead of 'C'.

Various small bug fixes.

* What's new in FabFilter Pro-C 2.01?

Improved High DPI support on Windows, now including 150% scaling.

The Audio Unit plug-in is now sandbox-safe, so it can be used in sandboxed DAWs.

The plug-in can now operate at any sample rate, without a maximum.

Improved Avid control surface page tables, now including support for the S6 range.

Fixed an issue with keyboard handling in Pro Tools 12.2 or higher.

Fixed an issue in the AAX plug-in when using it as 'Default Dynamics' in Pro Tools
on a stereo track (creating a multi-mono version instead of stereo).

Fixed possible crashes when using the plug-in in Final Cut Pro X (with the
Background Render option enabled).

In Pro Tools mini track view, Pro-C will now show its distinctive letter 'C'
instead of the first letter 'P'.

When Auto Release is enabled, the release knob now shows its values in a percentage
range instead of milliseconds.

Fixed possible audible spikes when changing compression styles.

Small bug fixes and improvements.

* What's new in FabFilter Pro-C 2?

Most importantly, FabFilter Pro-C 2 introduces five brand-new compression styles,

in addition to the three original Pro-C v1 styles:
- Vocal: a very effective algorithm to bring vocals to the front of your mix. It
works with automatic knee and ratio settings, so compressing your lead vocal is as
easy as choosing the right threshold.
- Mastering: designed to be as transparent as possible, introducing as little
harmonic distortion as possible, while still being able to catch those fast
transients.
- Bus: especially great for bus processing, or for adding a pleasant glue to your
drums, mixes or tracks.
- Punch: traditional, analog-like compression behavior, sounds good on anything!
- Pumping: deep and over-the-top pumping, great for drum processing or EDM.

Introducing Lookahead (up to 20 ms), which can be enabled/disabled as well to

ensure zero latency processing.

Introducing Hold (up to 500 ms).

Introducing custom Knee, variable from hard knee to a 72 dB soft knee, which
enables you to achieve saturation-like compression effects.

Introducing Range setting, which limits the maximum applied gain change.

Introducing Mix, which scales the gain change from 0% to 200%.

Introducing up to 4x Oversampling.

Simplified and improved side-chain stereo handling, introducing variable stereo

linking with mid-only, side-only, M>S and S>M processing.

Introducing side-chain EQ section, with customizable HP and LP filters, plus an

additional freely adjustable side-chain filter (Bell, Low Shelf, High Shelf, Band
Pass, Notch or Tilt).

Fully redesigned user interface, including optional knee and level displays with a
variable range from 9 dB to 90 dB.

Introducing Full Screen mode, offering a large level display and side-chain EQ
controller.

Extended Threshold range to -60 dB.

Introducing Audition Triggering option, to be able to hear on which parts of the

audio Pro-C 2 is triggering and how much compression is taking place.

Introducing multiple interface sizes: Small, Medium and Large.

Introducing MIDI triggering. If MIDI is enabled, the compressor is triggered when

you hit any key on a connected MIDI keyboard controller.

Highly improved level meters, with peak and loudness level visualization. The
loudness level complies with the Momentary mode of the EBU R128 / ITU-R 1770
standards.

Introducing Retina support on OS X and High DPI support on Windows.

* Windows Installation

Double-click the downloaded file to install FabFilter Pro-C 2. If you have

downloaded the 32-bit installer, it contains the 32-bit VST 2, VST 3 and AAX plug-
ins. The 64-bit installer (marked with 'x64' in its file name) contains 64-bit VST
2, VST 3 and AAX plug-ins.

The installer will try to detect the correct VST 2 plug-ins folder on your
computer, but you may need to select it yourself for your preferred host. After the
installation is complete, you can always manually copy the VST 2 plug-in to the
plug-ins folder for your host. The VST 2 plugin file name is C:\Program Files\
FabFilter\Pro-C 2\FabFilter Pro-C 2.dll.

* macOS Installation

Double-click the downloaded disk image and double-click the installer package that
it contains to install the VST, VST 3, AAX and AU versions of FabFilter Pro-C 2
(both 32-bit and 64-bit). The plug-ins will be installed in the global audio
library (/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins).
