It is certainly true that an increasing quantity of people spend less time

staying at home. Instead, they tend to consume their time on socialization and
working apparently.

To begin with, there are many reasons for this phenomenon. First,
numerous adults in the workforce are snowed under with work, especially office
workers. For instance, most people in developing countries like China and
Vietnam ought to work overtime to complete their tasks on time, and they even
use their weekends to finish their jobs. In addition, poor residents tend to live in
the suburbs for cost savings, and as a plethora of people work overtime and finish
their tasks lately, they choose not to come back home because of long travel
time. The last contributing factor is the social activities for citizens nowadays,
such as karaoke, and going to the cinema and most of them are becoming more
and more affordable. Hence, there are an increasing number of people who tend
to use their time with their friends rather than staying at home.

This trend can lead to several benefits on the contrary also drawbacks. As
people spend less time at home, the most obvious effect is invisible gaps between
family members are created, and this gap will become bigger and bigger over
time. Another major difficulty that we face is the workforce can suffer from
diseases as they have a restricted amount of time to rest. Nevertheless, due to
the fact of the increased usage of social facilities, the economy is promoted.

In conclusion, the work pressure, long-distance travel every day and


numerous entertaining facilities are the reasons why people spend less and less
time at home. And this trend can affect both individuals and the community life.
