INTRODUCTION:

This work consists of analysing five itineraries of five different cruise companies: MSC
Cruises, Costa Cruises, Royal Caribbean, Voyages and AIDA. All of them departing in
June 2022, departing from and arriving in the port of Barcelona. Below you can see the
differences between them in terms of itinerary and prices.

COSTA CRUCEROS

Description: 8-day cruise on board the Costa Firenze. Departure from the port of
Barcelona, visiting Cagliari (Sardinia), Palermo (Sicily), Civitavecchia (Rome), Genoa
(Italy), Marseille (France) and disembarkation at the port of Barcelona.

INCLUDED IN THE PRICE

 Full board in the main restaurants and buffet with the possibility to choose
dishes for special diets, drinks are only included in the All Inclusive and Super
All Inclusive rate.
 Sports activities with free access to a gym, fitness classes, outdoor swimming
pools and Jacuzzis, a sports field and an outdoor jogging track.
 Accommodation with all comforts: private bathroom with soap and liquid soap
for the shower, air conditioning, telephone, in-room music, satellite TV and safe.
 Daily cleaning and bed linen required for the stay.
 Free entrance to the theatre.
 Entertainment and activities in the mini-club and areas of the ship dedicated to
children and young people up to 17 years old.

Description: 8-day cruise on board MSC Seaview. Departure from the port of
Barcelona, visiting Marseille (France), Genoa (Italy), Naples (Pompeii), Messina
(Sicily), Valletta (Malta) and disembarkation at the port of Barcelona.

CONCLUSIONS

Having analysed each route separately, a small comparison was made between them:

In terms of prices, both Costa Cruises, MSC Cruises and Royal Caribbean have the
port taxes apart. If we compare Costa Cruises and AIDA, we can see the difference in
prices, AIDA is much cheaper even including the taxes in the final price, with a
difference of €130 less. Costa Cruises, MSC Cruises and Royal Caribbean have very
similar prices for inside cabins, sea view and balcony. On the other hand, the price of
the suite on Costa Cruises is higher, with a difference of 1250€ more. The most
expensive suite is that of the Voyages company and the cheaper is of the MSC
Cruceros company.

If we compare the cruise on board the Costa Firenze with the cruise on board MSC
Seaview, we can see that the former spends 49 hours in port, while the latter spends
46 hours. Both pass through Genoa and Marseille, the other destinations being
different. In terms of advantages, Costa Firenze offers free cancellation and free travel
for children, a disadvantage that MSC Seaview has. In relation to the price, the
difference between them is 1250€ for a suite cabin, with the MSC Seaview cabin being
more economical.

If we talk about the services offered by each ship, the MSC Seaview offers a more
complete service such as the beauty salon. Finally, Costa Firenze is a ship built in
2020, while MSC Seaview is built in 2018.

On the other hand, if we compare the cruise on board the Wonder of the Seas with the
cruise on board the Valiant Lady, we can see that the former spends 55 hours in port,
while the latter spends 65 hours in port. The two cruises pass through completely
different destinations, only the start and end port of the journey coincide. n terms of
price, Wonder of the Seas has the lowest cabin prices.

In conclusion, out of the five cruise ships analysed, we could say that the most
economical inside cabin is MSC View, followed by Costa Firenze, AIDAcosma, Wonder
of the Seas and finally the Valiant Lady.
