 Digital currency is a form of currency that is non-physical/exists only in

digital domain/recorded electronically/e-money
 Allows for instantaneous transactions and easy transactions across borders
 Effectiveness:
 Provides fixed record of transactions
 Transactions can be almost anonymous
 Transaction fees can be much lower than other forms of currency
 Reduced fraud from chargebacks
 Funds are received faster than other forms of transaction
 International transactions are easier than with other forms of currency

 Lack of effectiveness
 Difficult to understand how to use
 Not widely accepted by retailers/sellers
 Digital currency ‘wallets’ can be lost /fail if password lost, leading to failed
transactions
 Transactions cannot be reversed in case of error
 Value can change, leading to uncertainty.
Describe four components of this Gantt chart.
 Timeline for showing the duration in hours, days, weeks, months and
quarters
 Milestone to show a due date of a project
 Bars to show full duration of tasks
 Arrows to show dependencies of tasks and can show critical path

Describe drawbacks of using online questionnaires to gather feedback.

 Sample of respondents can be too small to provide meaningful results, and

not all customers will respond
 No interviewer involved so no ‘follow-up’ questions possible
 Customers may not give honest answers if invited by email with incentives
 Difficult to check that a respondent is a genuine customer
 Only customers with internet access can be questioned.

Describe how peer-to-peer networking uses BitTorrent to transfer large data files
between
several users.

 nodes share processing power without the need for a central server
 Nodes work as client and server for other nodes
 Nodes can connect randomly or in specific topology
 Unstructured mode is robust when nodes drop out frequently but makes
finding a specific file more difficult
 Structured mode is organized and files can be found easily
 Peer-to-peer software is run on computer
 Software queries other computers to find required file
 Search request has (TTL) after which it stops search and spreads from
queried nodes to others
 When found, software downloads file from node to node
Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of web-based project management
software.

Advantages:
 Data (of project) is stored on the server so is accessible by all team members
and updates can be seen immediately by all team members
 Collaboration between team members in remote areas
 Integrated mail servers instantly notify members/clients/ about important
events
 Access control lists can be used to control who is allowed to see parts of the
system
 (Most) web-based Project Management tools are user-friendly with little
training needed

Disadvantages:
 Basic Project Management functionality may be missing e.g. Gantt charts
 Web-based Project Management tools are not available without internet
access
 privacy issues may arise as data may be stored on a third party server
 Web-based Project Management tools are not compatible with local PM
tools
 Using internet can allow team members to be distracted from project tasks

Describe the features of online questionnaires that make them suitable for
gathering feedback from customers.
 Drop down lists offering a choice to respondent
 Radio buttons allowing only one choice to be made
 Text boxes to gather free response answers
 Single character boxes to ensure data entry is appropriate
 Validation rules to ensure that only reasonable comments are collected
 Validation rules place a limit on the number of characters in open-ended
answers
 Inclusion of instructions/ available to assist in completing the form
 Pop-up boxes to explain questions in more detail
 Multi-language options for different languages
 Progress bar so participants can see how far they have got in the
questionnaire
 Can re-direct to end-of survey web page
