Subject: OBSERVANCE OF 2016 NATIONAL TEACHER’S MONTH AND WORLD TEACHERS’

DAY CELEBRATION

Date: September 8, 2016

1. In connection to DepEd Memorandum No. 139, s. 2016 as observance of World

Teachers’ Day (WTD) and National Teachers’ Month (NTM) for the whole month of
September starting September 5, 2016 to October 5, 2016, the District of Morong
announces the conduct of the events on its respective schools, district level and division
level following the synchronized programs, projects and activities listed in the
enclosures with the theme: “Guro Kabalikat sa Pagbabago.”

2. The celebrations aim to:

a. honor those who are in the teaching profession;
b. acknowledge and give emphasis on the crucial role, loyal service and dedicated
commitment of teachers in developing globally-minded citizens, nurturing
families, strengthening communities, and building the nation;
c. revitalize the image of and respect for teaching as a vocation by increasing public
awareness on the value of teachers in the Philippine society;
d. take the occasion as an opportunity in building the image of teaching as an
attractive and fulfilling profession;
e. generate widespread support and assistance for teachers; and
f. express gratitude for the positive influences of teachers on Filipino learners.

3. All school heads, teachers, SPG Officers, PTA Officers and pupils are enjoined to actively
participate in the event that will highlight the celebration of the NTM and WTD
celebrations. All expenses relative to event shall be charged to local funds, subject to
the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.

4. Attached are the Plan of Activities and Committees for the event.

5. Immediate dissemination of this Memorandum is desired.

A. Ringing of  School bells shall ring at 10:05 AM as signal for School Head Teachers, SPG October 5, 2016 (Wednesday)

B. National Prayer  Immediately after the ringing/sounding of School Heads SPG October 5, 2016
for Teachers school bells, the national Prayer for Teachers,
either in Filipino or English, shall be recited.
