    We see everything

    After Lex’ death, the book focuses on the further development of two characters in particular: Alan and Zoe.
    How did these two continue their lives? Are they still the same people as before?

    ALAN
    a. Has Alan changed to any extent? Discuss this question by having another look at the pages 222/223 and
    227/228.

    b. Study the quote below and answer the question. Was Alan’s action really an act of protest against the
    system?

    “…people are calling me a hero. There is a campaign to raise funds for my defence. A group of
    activists wants to turn my protest into an example, a test case, the beginnings of a challenge to the
    drone programme under war crimes legislation.”

    c. When Alan starts his job at a Hardware store, he begins to like the fact that he can help people build
    and repair things. Do you see any symbolic meaning in that regarding Alan’s past at the military?

    ZOE
    a. After Lex’ death Zoe gets together with Craig from the street sales. Have a critical look at their
    relationship by studying the pages 248-250. What are your thoughts?

    b. How does Zoe get her purpose in life and her happiness back?

    c. How does Zoe deal with her loss? Does she deal with it?
