INTER-SCHOOL SPORTS FESTIVAL REPORT

It is an honor to have been bestowed the responsibility of compiling and reporting the events of
the previous inter-school sports competition in which the school participated in and did
brilliantly well. Before the report proper, I would like to thank the sport director and sport prefect
of the school and the various athletes who represented the school and brought home laurels. They
stand as heroes alongside all of us that cheered and applauded every move.

As we all know, this year’s Inter-school sports competition was hosted by the state government
in collaboration with the local government and despite the fact that we were qualified enough,
the hosting was passed on to our neighboring school, All Saints Secondary School Ihiala, this
means that we have to do better next year.

The event featured all the eligible Secondary Schools under Ihiala Local Government Area. As
expected, it was as competitive as it has always been, perhaps, even more competitive because at
the end of the last event, there were more winners than losers.

Featuring different track, field and indoor events, the competition will go down as the most
sophisticated and most decorated in the history of Ihiala Local Government. The hundred-meter
race for Junior Secondary came first and the School, represented through Ebuka Obi, came first.
It would be the beginning of a very successful day as we also took first positions in football,
volleyball, the marathon, javelin, table tennis, high jump and secured silver in hundred meters,
senior secondary, basketball and shotput in both categories affirming our strong finish as the
overall best school of the tournament.

Our success in this particular competition has proven beyond doubt that hard work pays and all
the efforts we put in preparation for the tournament did not go in vain. On behalf of the students,
I thank the school for providing us with the right support to be able to achieve these feet and I
encourage my fellow students all over Ihiala to maintain this dedication in pursuit of academic
excellence.
