MR and MS EBN 2023

Guidelines and Mechanics

In line with the conduct of the search for Mr. and Ms. EBN 2023 as part of the College of Engineering
Day celebration on March 2, 2023, below are the guidelines and mechanics for all concerned:

I. Introduction

The College of Engineering is set to hold its annual celebration on March 2, 2023, and one of the most
highly anticipated events is the search for Mr. and Ms. EBN 2023. This event brings together the most
charming, talented, and confident students from the College of Engineering, who will showcase their
wit, personality, and skills in a series of competitions.

The search for Mr. and Ms. EBN 2023 is not just a beauty pageant, but an opportunity for students to
demonstrate their leadership abilities, creative talents, and social awareness. It is a celebration of the
diversity and excellence of the students in the College of Engineering, as well as a chance for them to
make new friends and build networks.

As part of the College of Engineering Day celebration, the search for Mr. and Ms. EBN 2023 promises to
be an exciting event filled with energy, glamour, and fun. Students, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests are
all invited to witness this grand event, and to support their favorite candidates as they compete for the
coveted titles of Mr. and Ms. EBN 2023.

The Candidate will compete on the following categories:

1. Popularity Vote
2. Production Number
3. Swim Wear Competition
4. Talent Competition
5. Evening Gown Competition
6. Q and A Portion

II. Qualifications

The search is open to male students of the college. Each department must have two male
representatives for the role of mr and ms.

III. Mechanics

Popularity Votes – Each candidate will have an official pageant photo that will be uploaded on the
Official Facebook Page of the college. Candidates are encourage to share their official pageant photos to
gather more likes/reacts from their friends. The percentage will be computed based on the higest
number of total reacts of all the photos of a certain candidate. The candidate with the highest number
of likes will get 50% of the category Facebook Likes/Reacts.

Details on the percentage are as follows:

 Judges 50%
 FB Votes 50%
Production Number – in the presentation of candidates during the pageant, candidates will present and
introduce themselves with grace and beauty. They will be rated as follows:

Stage Appearance (Poise, Bearing, and Presence) 25%

Timing of Movements / Mastery / Execution 25%
Introduction (Appropriateness and Wit) 25%
Audience Impact 25%
Total 100%

Swim Wear Competition – in this category, candidates will be required any swim wear of their choice.
An adult diaper will be provided to add wit and twist to this category. Candidates must highlight their
physical fitness to satisfy the following criteria:

Fitness (Body Proportion and Suitability) 20%

Physical Appearance (Good Posture and Facial Expression) 25%
Confidence and Stage Appeal 30%
Audience Impact 25%
Total 100%

Talent Competition – in this category, candidates will be competing in pairs as to what talent they will
be presenting. Creativity, entertainment value, and outside the box are the major factor on this category
but will be grounded with appropriate content. They will be rated as follows:

Creativity and Uniqueness 30%

Appropriateness and wit 30%
Overall Impact (Entertainment Value) 30%
Audience Impact 10%
Total 100%

Evening Gown Competition – in this category, candidates must show proper poise, bearing, elegance,
and beauty while in their long gown / formal wear. They will be rated based on:

Design and Fitting 30%

Elegance and Beauty 20%
Stage Appearance (Poise, Bearing, and Presence) 30%
Audience Impact 20%
Total 100%

Question and Answer Portion – in this category, each candidates must submit a question (any language
they prefer) to the event organizers and prepare to answer them during the Q and A round. The answers
should be witty and catchy. The answers should not take 3 minutes long. They will be rated based on:

Wit and Content 40%

Projection and Delivery 20%
 Audience Impact 40%
Total 100%

Overall - Ranking of the individual candidate will be taken from the following percentage.

Production Number 10%

Swim Wear 10%
Talent 25%
Evening Gown 25%
Q and A 30%
Total 100%

The winners will be determined according to the total following ranks of each candidate:
