RECORD JESUS MAIN TEACHING ON THE SERMON ON THE MOUNT

The Sermon on the Mount is considered as one of the most profound and influential
teachings of Jesus Christ. It is a grand collection of ethical teachings that are found in
the Gospel of Matthew, chapters 5-7. The Sermon on the Mount is Jesus' primary
teaching on how to live a life of righteousness that pleases God. In this piece, we will
examine the primary teaching of Jesus on the Sermon on the Mount and how it affects
our lives today.

Jesus' primary teaching on the Sermon on the Mount is to seek first the kingdom of
God. He emphasizes the importance of prioritizing the things of God over earthly
concerns. Jesus begins the Sermon on the Mount by listing a series of blessings and
virtues that characterize a true disciple of Christ. He teaches that the poor in spirit,
those who mourn, the meek, the peacemakers, and the pure in heart will inherit the
kingdom of God.

MAKE A LIST OF JESUS MIRACLES

Jesus is known for his numerous miracles during his time on earth. These miracles
were not just acts of power, but also displays of his divine nature as the Son of God.
Here is a list of some of the most significant miracles performed by Jesus.

1. Turning water into wine – This was the first recorded miracle of Jesus, which took
place at a wedding in Cana. Jesus turned water into wine when the wedding party ran
out, showing his power over nature.

2. Healing the blind man – The Gospel records several instances of Jesus healing blind
men by restoring their sight. One such miracle took place in Bethsaida, where Jesus
spat on the man’s eyes and he was able to see.

3. Raising Lazarus from the dead – One of the most remarkable of all Jesus’ miracles
was the raising of Lazarus from the dead. Jesus raised Lazarus four days after his
death, showing his power over death itself.

4. Healing the sick: Jesus is said to have healed countless people throughout his
ministry, including those with leprosy, blindness, and other debilitating illnesses.

5. The great haul of fishes (Luke 5:1-11).

One day as Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret, the people were crowding
around him and listening to the word of God. He saw at the water’s edge two boats, left
there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets. He got into one of the boats, the
one belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from shore. Then he sat down
and taught the people from the boat. When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon,
“Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.” Simon answered, “Master,
we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will
let down the nets.” When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish
that their nets began to break. So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come
and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink.
When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said, “Go away from me, Lord; I
am a sinful man!” For he and all his companions were astonished at the catch of fish
they had taken, and so were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, Simon’s partners.
Then Jesus said to Simon, “Don’t be afraid; from now on you will fish for people.” So
they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed him.

6. Jesus cured Peter's mother-in-law of a fever (Mark 1:30-31).

Simon’s mother-in-law was in bed with a fever, and they immediately told Jesus about
her. So he went to her, took her hand, and helped her up. The fever left her and she
began to wait on them.

7. Jesus stilled the storm (Matthew 8:23-27).

Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. Suddenly a furious storm came
up on the lake so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The
disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” He replied,
“You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and
the waves, and it was completely calm. The men were amazed and asked, “What kind
of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”

8. Jesus cured two demoniacs (Matthew 8:28-34).

When he arrived at the other side in the region of the Gadarenes, two demon-
possessed men coming from the tombs met him. They were so violent that no one could
pass that way. “What do you want with us, Son of God?” they shouted. “Have you come
here to torture us before the appointed time?” Some distance from them a large herd of
pigs was feeding. The demons begged Jesus, “If you drive us out, send us into the herd
of pigs.” He said to them, “Go!” So they came out and went into the pigs, and the whole
herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and died in the water. Those tending the
pigs ran off, went into the town, and reported all this, including what had happened to
the demon-possessed men. Then the whole town went out to meet Jesus. And when
they saw him, they pleaded with him to leave their region.

9. Jesus raised the ruler's daughter from the dead (Matthew 9:18-26).
While he was saying this, a synagogue leader came and knelt before him and said, “My
daughter has just died. But come and put your hand on her, and she will live.” Jesus got
up and went with him, and so did his disciples. Just then a woman who had been
subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his
cloak. She said to herself, “If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed.” Jesus turned and
saw her. “Take heart, daughter,” he said, “your faith has healed you.” And the woman
was healed at that moment. When Jesus entered the synagogue leader’s house and
saw the noisy crowd and people playing pipes, he said, “Go away. The girl is not dead
but asleep.” But they laughed at him. After the crowd had been put outside, he went in
and took the girl by the hand, and she got up. News of this spread through all that
region.

10. Jesus fed at least five thousand people (Matthew 14:15-21).

As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place,
and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and
buy themselves some food.” Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give
them something to eat.” “We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they
answered. “Bring them here to me,” he said. And he directed the people to sit down on
the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave
thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples
gave them to the people. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up
twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. 21 The number of those who ate
was about five thousand men, besides women and children.
