Introduction

Education is widely acknowledged as a fundamental human right and a

catalyst for social and economic development. However, the correlation
between poverty and education poses significant challenges to achieving
universal access to quality education. This research paper delves into the
intricate interplay between poverty and the school system, aiming to explore
the multifaceted dimensions of this issue.

According to Cordaid.org Education is a foundation for life and a gateway to

personal development. However, more than 250 million children and youth

are not in school. Among those who do attend school, many fail to reach
minimum levels in reading and mathematics due to a poor learning

environment. We aim to improve both access to primary schools, as well as

the quality of education. To structurally increase access to education,

notably for girls, and improve the quality of the learning environment, we
train teachers in our results-based financing approach.
