Yes, it is hard transitioning from a student phase to a professional phase while joining and
Summer Internship Program especially in the initial stages as a working professional it is
expected him/her to take initiative. For me, in the initial stages of working in the field and a new
city, it was very difficult for me to find out my targets or the locations for me to conduct market
research and as a rookie, it was also difficult in sense of what kind of techniques should I use and
how can I approach my potential targets. A problem that I faced during the period of the
internship was the very first day as I had to where I had no idea how to conduct market research
and collect data so I looked back and tried to recall the studies of the period before joining the
SIP on how to collect data and the basics of market research and I was able to take my very first
initiative.

The turning point is very important in a Summer Internship Program it can be a new idea or
guidance from the corporate mentor, for me such an instance happened when my corporate
mentor gave me the idea of using a Google form to ask for the basic or required information and
making a QR code for it as most of the potential targets were employees and as working in a
busy city as Bengaluru nobody has time so they can scan the code and fill the form and also
share the form to their colleagues so the required data was recorded with the organization.

Maintaining a student life and as well as a professional life while in Summer Internship Program
was very difficult the academics from the intuition do stop but self-learning never stops as a part
of an MBA curriculum it is very important to keep oneself updated on the standards of the
industry. In maintaining both the aspects of student life and professional life it is very important
to follow a schedule for example in the two months of internship I found that for I to have a
schedule consisting of work, self-learning, and outdoor activity was the best to be on top of
everything which also gave me a fresh idea upon how to solve daily problems of the professional
work and student life. Having a schedule gives you a birds-eye view of your dynamic life for me
maintaining a timetable helped me a lot in the second month of my Summer Internship Program
where a series of meetings about meeting clients were lined up for the organization I was
working for and interviews from the college about clubs and they both were only managed by me
by the help of having a schedule.

Looking back at the term of Internship two I regret most that I could have engaged more with
potential clients for market research and also with more organizations for building the database.
The second thing I regret is the lack of engagement in the organization’s fun activities conducted
as a team-building exercise.

The things that I am proud of at the time of the Summer Internship Program is the part where
what I had learned in the MBA curriculum and I got a chance to use them in the field which
helped me in solving and staying in front of the problems which arose in the term of the
internship. The second thing that I am proud of is my willingness and confidence to work which
slowly started to build up as started my internship and after getting a few successful leads
towards creating the database.

Thinking back to the time when I had not joined the college back after the Summer Internship
Program I thought then that doing this would be very difficult as spending an entire year of the
MBA curriculum online and then going offline for the rest of the term also the friend that I had
made all of them of were online, so coming to join the college I was very nervous and confused
as well but and I joined and took two to three days to settle in and attending few classes I thought
to myself that transitioning from professional life back to student life is not that hard and it
becomes very easy if one just accepts the process rather than avoiding to face it head on. As I
completed the Summer Internship Program I found that the problems I tackled and solved during
that term make the transition from professional life to student life moderately easy as I gained the
experience and confidence of talking to strangers as a part of conducting daily market research.
