The pie charts compare the proportion of the working population in three

different(chosen, selected) fields in town A and town B in 1960 and 2010.


In general, the percentage of people working in manufactoring sector increased in
both towns, whereas sales sector was likely to decrease in two towns. There was a
significant difference between each sector and each town.
In terms of manufactoring sector, in 1960 the figure for people working in this
sector made up(accounted for) 29% in town A, which three times higher than in
town B. After 50 years, it underwent a significant increase to almost second third
and a quarter in town A and town B, respectively.
By contrast, the percentage of sales sector witnessed a decline. In town A, the
proportion of workforce in sales sector in 1960 was 41% before falling
dramatically to a half in 2010. The figure in town B also decreased from 70% in
1960 to 53% in 2010.
The rate of people working on services sector in town A experienced a slight drop
from 30% to 16% while this percentage in town B rose steadily by 2%
