This study uses an analytical observational system with a cross-sectional method. This research
was conducted at IRJ RSUD Dr. Soetomo Surabaya starting from January - March 2023. The
population of this study were patients aged 2-18 years who came to the IRJ RSUD Dr.
Soetomo. The research sample is the case population who are not seriously ill and are willing to
participate in the study. The number of samples required according to the sample size formula
is 61 samples of subjects . The sampling technique used in this study was consecutive
sampling, that is, all subjects who came sequentially and met the selection criteria were
included in the study until the number of subjects was met.
Case group inclusion criteria: (1) patients aged 2–18 years and willing to participate in the study.
The exclusion criteria for the case group were: (1) the child was seriously ill at the time of blood
collection, (2) the child had an autoimmune disease DMT1, Hashimoto, Graves, systemic lupus
erythematosus. Data were analyzed with SPSS software version 17.0. Normality test using
Kolmogorov Smirnov and homogeneity using Levene test. If the distribution is normal, the
correlation between IGF-1 and HbA1c levels was analyzed by Pearson's test. Descriptive
analysis to determine the description and distribution of the sample, mean, standard deviation,
and frequency distribution table. Significant outcome was defined as p < 0.05. Data is displayed
as mean and percentage (%)
This study used a cross-sectional methodology with an analytical observational system. From
January through March 2023, this study was carried out at IRJ RSUD Dr. Soetomo Surabaya.
Patients who visited the IRJ RSUD Dr. Soetomo between the ages of 2 and 18 made up the
study's population. The case population is the group of people who are eligible for the study but
are not seriously ill. According to the sample size, 61 subject samples are needed in total. This
study used consecutive sampling, which means that all people who successively met the
eligibility requirements were included in the study until the required number of subjects was
reached.
Patients between the ages of 2 to 18 who are willing to engage in the study are required for the
case group. The following were the exclusion criteria for the case group: (1) the child was
critically ill at the time blood was drawn; (2) the child had an autoimmune disease, such as
systemic lupus erythematosus, DMT1, Hashimoto, or Graves; (3) parents who are not willing to
have their children sampled. Version 17.0 of SPSS software was used to analyze the data.
Levene test for homogeneity and Kolmogorov-Smirnov for normality. The association of vitamin
D levels with other variables was examined using chi-square test and independent t-test. The
mean, standard deviation, and frequency distribution table are all determined by descriptive
analysis, along with the sample's description and distribution. The threshold for significant
results was set at P-value <0.05. Information was presented as a mean and percentage (%).
