Background of The Study
Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao, also known as ESP, is one of the most challenging subjects.
Everyone views this subject differently because it touches on each person's morals and ideals.
The majority of students hold opinions about specific topics that are at odds with the principles
being taught in this class. According to linkedin.com, especially the author of the work, Gaurav
Gupta. Because of how diverse urban societies have become, value systems now differ at the
family level within a school. As a result, schools and parents are frequently at odds over what
behaviors qualify as irreverent and what are socially acceptable. Additionally, the value profiles
of the teachers themselves could differ, which complicates matters for both students and schools.
In this study, we will tackle the struggles Grade 10 - Newton is experiencing in
Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao. We noticed that there are a number of students who got a sudden
lower of grades in the 3rd Quarter. Despite having complete performance tasks and written
works, the students didn't get the average they deserved. Though, there are some students that
improved their grades, majority of the class didn't get to attain their full potential in the subject.
The reason for this research is the amount of impact students being affected by different kinds of
teaching methods teachers' have developed throughout the years.
The education system has undergone significant transformations over the years, reflecting
societal changes, advancements in technology, and new rapid approaches. These changes have
been driven by a growing recognition of the need to prepare students for the challenges and
opportunities of the rapidly evolving world. However, as societies progressed, there emerged a
realization that education is a fundamental right and a powerful tool for social and economic
mobility.
In conclusion, the education system has come a long way in transforming itself to meet
the evolving needs of students and society. We have witnessed significant changes that reflect a
deep understanding of the importance of putting students at the center of the learning process.
Integrating technology, promoting inclusivity, nurturing holistic development, and
acknowledging the significance of global competencies are some notable examples of these
changes. As education keeps progressing, it is vital to create a dynamic and inclusive
environment that prioritizes the learners and equips them with the skills and knowledge they
need to succeed in a rapidly changing world.
Statement of The Problem
The goal of this study is to examine the Grade 10 Newton’s performance task scores.
Students' performance task records for the class will be utilized to evaluate the data and develop
inferences.
This research analyzes the scores of performance tasks in Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao of the
grade 10 Newton S.Y. 2023-2024, in a statical analysis study. We are getting the performance
task record of the class from Ms. Sigrid Cartaño and analyzing the data in terms of:
1. Grade 10 Newton
2. Location of the participants/respondents
3. Respondents/participants ESP performance task score(s).
At Don Jose Integrated School, Grade 10 Newton struggles to perform well and earn high
marks on performance tasks because a significant number of pupils in the section perform well
on written assessments and in recitation however receive low marks on performance tasks. Thus,
a distribution of performance task records and scores with the support of the respondents can
provide data of the level of performance the Grade 10 Newton have.
Significance of The Study
Through this study, the researchers will be able to ascertain whether or not the class is
having difficulty with the subject. The researchers can also determine which pupils require
assistance with the subject. The goal of our research is to pinpoint the problems that lead students
receiving poor grades and to provide solutions that will increase their ability to perform well in
school. Students as well as educators will gain if a suitable solution is offered to this issue. Our
study is important since it will assist students who are having issues understanding the ESP class
and enable them to concentrate on the content at hand. The teacher has to be aware of this in
order to focus on those particular pupils and improve instruction. The student will be able to
recall the material more quickly and comprehend it.
Methodology
Research Design
This study is a quantitative research. Hence, we used a statistical method to analyze the
scores of the performance task in Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao of Grade 10 Newton. We were
able to take and calculate these given data by using descriptive statistics, which outline the data
by using indices such as mean, percentiles, and percentile rank.
Respondents
The respondents in this research study were the students of Grade 10 Newton at Don Jose
Integrated High School. As we were able to interview and ask them on how they handle, and are
there any struggles they’re facing in this subject.
Data Gathering
The researchers asked permission from Ms. Sigrid Cartano, if they are allowed to get and
use her class records of Grade 10 Newton as a data for this study. Ms. Cartano allowed the
researchers to gather these data, and they were able to analyzed this by using the following
statistical treatment. A short interview were also done in Grade 10 Newton as a basis for this
research. The researchers studied these given data and answers from the interviews.

5. 75% of the students in Grade 10 Newton has a grade of which is equal to or greater than

Conclusion and Recommendation
The results showed that Grade 10 Newton's ESP performance task had a higher number
of students who had mastered the subject throughout the third quarter, with very small
percentages of both the students who received failing grades and the majority of those who did.
The 25% of students who failed the subject will have remedial classes with the teacher.
We would like to suggest that the teacher should have different kinds of teaching methods
in order to have a higher percentage of students who pass the subject. We would also like to
suggest that students should put in more effort for a greater chance of passing. Efforts like
advanced reading, taking notes, participating in recitations, etc.
