FRECKLE JUICE

Chaper 1
Andrew Marcus wanted FRECKLES, but he
ONLY  had two warts on his finger. Nicky Lane HAD
freckles and Andrew Marcus wondered  how to get
freckles.

One day in class, Andrew TRIED TO  count
Nicky´s freckles. SUDDENLY, the teacher, Miss
Kelly, called Andrew, “Are you paying attention?”
Andrew joined his reading group, they GIGGLED
(ji,ji,ji!), especially SHARON. Andrew COULDN´T
STAND (tolerate) Sharon!! Grrrr Grrr!
When it WAS TIME to go home, Sharon
WHISPERED to Andrew, “I know  HOW TO GET
freckles. I have a SECRET RECIPE for freckle juice.”

Chapter 2
Andrew  HAD TROUBLE  sleeping. Andrew 
didn´t like the idea of paying Sharon FIFTY CENTS.
It was A LOT OF money. IF  Sharon recipe  DIDN´T
WORK,  he would ask for ( pediría)  his money back.
He took out  5 DIMES, he stuffed them = put them in
his pocket. Andrew RACED (ran very fast / quickly)
to school.  A   DEAL   IS   A  DEAL ( un trato es un
trato = I give her the money = DIMES   and  she 
gives me the freckle juice recipe).
Sharon wanted the money FIRST! Andrew gave
her the money. Sharon counted it. Then, she
THREW a paper to Andrew. He picked the secret
recipe. But Miss Kelly asked Andrew for the paper.
He could get the paper back at 3:00 o´clock. Finally,
Andrew got his secret recipe.

Chapter 3
Andrew folded the secret recipe carefully and put it in
his shoe. After school, Andrew ran home, (picked the
key from Mrs. Burrows´house, a neighbour). He went
home. He read the recipe and picked all of the
ingredients to make the freckle juice. But…
unfortunately,... unluckily,... Andrew COULDN´T 
FIND  the lemon. AGH! The juice smelled awful!!!
Then he found lemon and SQUEEZED some in the
glass. The juice SMELLED  awful   and … TASTED  
terrible!!! Andrew  HELD his nose ( se tapó su nose!)
and GULPED down ( se tragó) Sharon´s secret
recipe for freckle juice. Andrew didn´t feel well, he felt
like THROWING UP (tenía ganas de vomit…) BUT
he needed  to be  STRONG! He sat on the floor, (in
front of (adelante de) a mirror and … waited for
something to happen…???
COPY THE RECIPE WITH ALL OF THE
INGREDIENTS!!!
One glass of Freckle Juice makes an average
amount of freckles → Con un vaso de Freckle juice
logras una cantidad PROMEDIO de pecas = una
buena cantidad de pecas.
To get  ALL the freckles like Nicky Lane, You
(have to) drink 2 glasses!!!

 INSTRUCTIONS: 
 Mix up all the ingredients together
  Stir well /ste...r/ (revolver - mezclar bien)
 DRINK FAST!
Andrew decided to drink just ONE
GLASSFUL (sólo un vaso de jugo)
   Grape juice
    Vinegar
 Mustard
 Mayonnaise,
 Juice from one lemon →  a  SPECK of
lemon: una pizca!
 Pepper
 Salt
 Ketchup
 Olive oil
 A speck of onion
ATTENTION!!! Andrew   added (agregó) one ICE
CUBE = all drinks taste better cold! ( A. agregó un
cubo de hielo porque todas las bebidas saben mejor
bien FRÍAS!)

CHAPTER 4
After drinking the freckle juice, Andrew felt sick.
He turned greenish. His stomach hurt. When his
mother came home, she was astonished. She was
going to call the doctor but she saw the mess in the
kitchen. Andrew´s mum was angry. She sent Andrew
to bed and gave him some medicine. Andrew thought
perhaps the freckles would appear when he was
sleeping. 
But now he was angry, he hated Sharon
because he thought she had done it on purpose.
Andrew wanted his money back. The following day,
when he woke up,  Andrew was sweaty. He didn´t go
to school. But when he looked at   himself  in  the
mirror,  GUESS WHAT!!! There were  NO  freckles.
The next day, he had to go to school but Sharon
would not get away with it!
