A few ice breaking sessions later the localities managed to share their

about the lifestyle of the people of Sadenhalli. The major problem
areas faced by the people of Sadenhalli include lack of better
employment opportunities, basic amenities like proper supply of clean
drinking water and poor idea of available career paths etc.

SLUM SURVEY

DATE:08/04/2019

LOCATION: KUNDALAHALLI

This event was organized by the "Total Literary and Education" group of NSS club of CMRIT.
Initially Mr. Naresh Dixit enlightened us about the objectives of the event. We then started
walking towards the slum which was around 1 km from our college. It's so strange that a place
just few kilometers away from our college seems like a completely different world.

When we reached the slum we divided ourselves into groups of twos and started the survey. The
intention of the survey was to know the literacy rate of those families. It took us around 4-5
hours to finish surveying the entire slum. We distributed chocolates to the kids who were living
there. The surveyors were given refreshments at last.

As a conclusion of the survey, we observed that the literacy levels of this place was low and
therefore our further events will be in the motive to improve their present situation.
