Problem Definition:
Giving extra benefits or hiring an employee based on his/her background is considered
as discrimination among employees and can be considered as violence against
employees as well, which may lead to business disrupts and eventually to business
shutdown.
List of Alternatives:
Changing the management style of the company by:
a. Apply new company policies to control and standardize the hiring process.
b. Apply salary criteria relative to the required qualification.
c. Develop data security and privacy policies to protect employees’ privacy.
Alternatives Evaluation:
a. New policies should be applied to control and standardize the hiring process
starting from the job posting with clear and fair criteria, identifying the job
requirement and qualifications based on pure business needs, interviewing the
candidates with jointly different managers of relative disciplines, this is to apply
the fair and transparent process.
b. The salary of the new candidates should be applied based on the job
qualification and job complexity, which should be in the same range of other
peers across the company to satisfy the fair salary criteria across the company
and to eliminate the discrimination feelings among employees.
c. Developing the data security policy is one of the modern management essentials
and needs to protect the company and its employees’ rights and privacy, recent
roles and regulations criminalizes the breach of data privacy of organizations or
individuals.
Recommendations:
Immediately action plan for alternative a & c is highly recommended.
