How will this lesson be implemented? Check all that apply.

X Teacher-directed: There is no student voice and choice in the activities. Students are guided by the
teacher's direction and expectations.

☐ Student-Led: Students are given voice and choice in the activities. They may select the topic for
presentation and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. Products of
learning will be uniquely designed. Teacher simply facilitates the learning in a lesson like this.

X Project-based and/or Publishable: Students are completing projects to demonstrate their learning
and the projects can be shared outside of the classroom. This objective could be reached by
displaying the project on the school’s morning newscast, posting the project to the classroom
blog, presenting it to another class, or publishing it via an outside source.

Lesson idea implementation: The kids will be asked to see a PowerPoint-produced eBook
titled "Let's Count Sea Animals" before moving on. Students will learn about counting with
the aid of the eBook. How many sea animals they see will be a question that they will receive

throughout the book. They now have a chance to pause and count their hands or use any
other manipulatives they may be using. After everyone has finished reading on their own, I
will gather everyone together and inquire about whether they felt the book improved their
ability to count. They will next use all of the sea animals they have studied about to make
their own drawing.

Managing the technology/engagement: Describe a way to use this technology in a way that
gets students actively involved in authentic tasks and contexts? How will you manage the
classroom behaviors on the technology: I want the kids to complete the drawing assignment
both in class and at home. I'll give them the option to upload a brief book that explains why
they liked each of the animals after they finish their drawing. This will keep them interested
and provide them with information about how I created my eBook.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL): The technology will benefit all students. Each student
will receive support when expressing their views on the slide or when they have questions by
collaborating with their peers, the teacher, or a parent volunteer. As long as they add up to
10, students can choose which animals they want to include in their eBooks. They may utilize
their own hand drawings or images found online on the Microsoft website. This tool
encourages creativity and participation, allowing students' ideas to come to life.

Reflecting on enhanced learning: This activity will have the kids hyped because it will be a
new way they can learn and express what they have learned. I am excited to see how it will
improve their counting and which animals they choose to go in their book.
