Analysis

After I have finished to read the poem “The Passionate Shepherd to his Love” and after
I analyzed it. I can say that this poem is about the speaker of the poem himself, he
convinces his listener to accompany him. He convinces them by describing about the
beauty of his place to live and excursions that they can enjoy and if his listener likes
those things, he invites him to come along and be his beloved.
The five symbols that I have found in the poem are the hills, valleys, mountains,
shallow rivers, cap of flowers and buckles of the purest gold. When I explain these
symbols using semiotics. I can say these symbols are all about nature. Every symbol
that I have mentioned is related to each other and the one meaning that implies to them
is all about nature and the beauty of these in our earth. The speaker wants to convey
the beauty of his country and he also used these to convince his listener to be with him
and be his beloved.
