ACTIVITY

Family Day, as its name suggests, is a day when we can all recognize and celebrate
our families. We don't always value our family as much as we ought to. This is a
result of the fact that we spend so much time with them and have grown
accustomed to their presence that we fail to stop, think, and appreciate all they do
for us. This year, Lanas National High School gave ourselves especially the
students, parents and family members the chance to bond together and focus on
getting closer as a family.

OBJECTIVES

This activity aims to gather members of Lanas National High School community,
family, friends and students in order to interact and get to know each other. It also
aims to give a chance for family members to strengthen their familial bond and for
students and parents to appreciate each other.

HIGHLIGHTS

The program started at exactly 1PM, right after the student’s Christmas Party. It
began with a prayer lead by Faculty President – Mr. Jonas P. Paran followed by the
singing of a Nationalistic song.

The program was warmed and graced by the message of the School Head – Mrs.
Gladys Christiane T. Solas. Her message encouraged and inspired everyone
especially the parents and students to continue their support to the school and
build better relationship among the Lanas NHS community.
The very special day was flavoured with different performances, surprises, games
and activities starting with the Zumba Dance Exercise led by Mr. Evaristo D. Ubas
III – Substitute MAPEH teacher. Different parlor games were played by the parents
and students facilitated by the faculty and staff. Families works harmoniously and
supports each other as they played Centipede Race, Paper Dance, Follow My Voice,
Snake Race, Head Shoulders Knees and Toes and Message Relay.

Students was also given the opportunity to showcase their talents in interpretative
dance, hip-hop dance and beat-boxing in front of their proud parents. It can be
seen how happy and proud these parents are as they witness their children
performances.

The most awaited raffle draw was the climax of the event. Parents who registered
were excited to win different prizes such as pail, dipper, basin, 2 kilos of rice, and 1
sack (5 kilos) of rice for the grand price prepared by Lanas National High School
and the Parent-Teacher Association.

After the raffle draw, Mr. Tiburcio Barangan – PTA President. He gave his gratitude
to the school administrator and teachers, to the parents and to the sponsors for
allowing the activity to happen harmoniously and successfully.
