E." in short) with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and English as one of the languages of study and obtained at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology group is eligible for Medical / Dental / Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga courses (40% in case of SC/ST/ Category-1 candidates.) ; provided that for Dental course, the candidate must also have secured 50% of marks in the English language. E. with Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Computer Science / Information Science / Electronics / Biology as optional subjects with English as one of the languages of study and obtained at least 35% marks in the optional subjects is eligible for Engineering and Technology courses; provided further that, the marks obtained by the candidate in Bio-Technology / Computer Science / Information Science / Electronics / Biology in the Q. E., will be considered in place of Chemistry for the purpose of determination of eligibility in respect of Engineering / Technology courses. Based on the performance of the candidates in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects in both Common Entrance Test and the Qualifying Examination, the Engineering rank list will be prepared and published. A candidate who has passed the Q. E. with Mathematics as one of the optional subjects and English as one of the languages of study along with other subjects and obtained at least 50% marks in aggregate in all subjects OR as revised by the Architecture Council of India, from time to time, is eligible for Architecture course. (40% in case of SC/ST/Category-1 candidates.) ; provided that the candidates who are interested in admission to Architecture course, should appear for both PART - 1 & PART - 2 of the Aptitude Test compulsorily. Marks obtained by the candidates in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects in the Common Entrance Test will not be taken into account for determining the merit / rank, for admission to Architecture course. Based on the performance of the candidates in both Aptitude Test and the Qualifying Examination, the Architecture rank list will be prepared and published. The SC / ST / Category - 1 eligibility criteria is applicable to persons of Karnataka origin who are claiming eligibility for Government seats under clauses (a), (b), (f), (h), (j), (k) and (l) and the same is not applicable to clauses (c), (d), (e), (g) and (i) of Item - 7 of Chapter - I. Not only a candidate who has passed the qualifying examination <aimeca-aicetResults.html> with requisite marks but also a candidate who has appeared for the Q. E. and expecting the results is eligible to apply for the Common Entrance Test / Aptitude Test. The repeaters and ex-students of Karnataka 2nd PUC, CBSE, CISCE and other candidates claiming eligibility for Government seats, should invariably send a photocopy of their Q. E. marks card (on which the CET admission ticket number is boldly written) to the CET Cell soon after the completion of Common Entrance Test on or before 20-052005, failing which, the results of such candidates will be with-held for want of Q. E. Marks. However, intermediary ranks / Spot ranks will be assigned for the candidates whose results have been with-held, subsequent to the submission of photocopy of the Q. E. marks card. E. marks, as it will be obtained directly from the Department of PUE. MEDICAL /DENTAL /ENGINEERING ADMISSION

Admission to Medical Dental Engineering Colleges in Bangalore - Karnataka There are three types of seats available in various colleges within the State of Karnataka 1) free seats or merit seats 2) payment seats 3) management quota (5% NRI quota). These in turn are split between the State Government and the college management. The payment seats are further sub-divided into Karnataka quota and Non-Karnataka quota till 2004. But from 2005 academic year only Karnataka students are allowed to write CET. The only other way to get admission without CET to Karnataka engineering / medical / dental colleges is through management quota ( number of seats are limited and the number varies every year depends on the state Govt. norms). NRI students should follow the NOC(no objection certificate) /Eligibility norms of the Universities otherwise University will not approve the admission it will be considered as excess seat (NRI quota strictly 5%).International or foreign Students seeking admission against the reserved seats are required to submit their applications through the Indian missions abroad or through the diplomatic missions of the respective countries in India 1. The Common Entrance Test / Aptitude Test and performance in the qualifying examination will be the basis for admission of candidates to the above courses to Government seats in institutions affiliated to Universities in Karnataka. A student should compulsorily appear for PCM subjects in case of Engineering / Technology courses, PCB subjects in case of Medical / Dental / ISM & Homoeopathy courses in the Common Entrance Test and for Aptitude Test Part - I & II for admission to Architecture course. 3. ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY : The applicant should, (a) for Medical / Dental / Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga courses, have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th std. or equivalent exam with PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY & BIOLOGY as optional subjects with ENGLISH as one of the languages of study and obtained at least 50% marks in the PCB group, provided that for Dental course, the candidate must also have secured 50% of marks in English language. However, SC, ST and Category - I candidates are eligible if they secure 40% in PCB with 40% in English language in the case of Dental course. For admission to these courses, the candidate should have completed the age of 17 years as on 31st of December 2005. (b) for Engineering and Technology courses, have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th Std. or equivalent exam with PHYSICS & MATHEMATICS along with CHEMISTRY / BIOLOGY / BIO-TECHNOLOGY / COMPUTER SCIENCE / ELECTRONICS / INFORMATION SCIENCE as optional subjects with ENGLISH as one of the languages of study and obtained at least 35% marks in the optional subjects. (c) for Architecture course, have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th Std. or equivalent exam with MATHEMATICS as an optional subject and ENGLISH as one of the languages of study and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying examination (40% in the case of SC / ST / Category-I candidates) and should compulsorily appear for both Part I & Part II of the Aptitude Test, conducted by CET Cell at BANGALORE, BELGAUM, GULBARGA and MYSORE. The contents on the self addressed envelope should be either in English or Kannada language only.
