II. MEETING PROCEDURE


A. Preliminaries:
- Checking of Attendance through picture taking for the organizational chart.
- Invocation through AVP
- National Anthem
- Welcome Remarks by Sir Florencio B. Dayag, Ph.D., OIC Science
Department to give an over-view of the GAD.
1. He said that this event is a three-in-one activity which focuses on GAD,
Departmental Meeting and Photo Opportunity to launch the One Agham
Cloud.
2. He said that the event is geared toward establishing harmonious working
atmosphere in the department.
- Presentation of the Participants by Marites E. Pascual.

B. GAD Proper

1. Gender Responsive Teaching Techniques and Classroom


Management

• Objectives:
o Identify different gender issues within educational institution.
o Embark upon gender specific interventions
• Ma’am Jovie lets the participants to identify specific tasks as “boy
thing” or “girl thing”

• She highlights on gender stereotyping is the act of associating the role


that an individual plays is being identified by being male of female
(sex)
• She also highlights important terms like gender, gender equity and
gender equality, and gender responsive.
• She also ask the participants to ponder on the following questions:
✓ What kind of teaching approaches do you commonly use?
✓ How is your classroom arranged? What arrangement could
promote better participation of both girls and boys.
✓ How gender-responsive are the textbooks you use?
✓ How do the school rules and regulations address the special
needs of girls and boys?
• The speaker also shared Gender Responsive Teaching and Learning
Techniques by asking the participants the following:
✓ How are the learners seated?
✓ Does the teacher:
o Equally call on boys and girls?
o Equally allow time for the learners?
o Equally reward correct answers?
o Use a variety of interesting methods to encourage boys
and girls to learn?
o Equally call on girls and boys to do the chores?
✓ Do Learners:
o Have access to teachers?
o Have equal opportunities to join activities?
o Are class rules and practices equal and fair to girls and
boys?
o Is the classroom environment safe for girls and boys?
o Is the classroom environment secure for girls and
boys?
o Do learners feel they can participate?
• To address gender-bias and advocate gender equality and sensitivity,
we give equal chances to learners regardless of gender and use a
variety of teaching methods.

2. Mid-Year Bonus (13th Month Pay)


3. Cash Allowance (5,000 pesos per classroom teacher for teaching
supplies and materials, internet and communication, annual medical
and physical examination)
4. Year-end bonus and cash gift (equivalent to 1 mo. salary as of
October 31)
5. Productivity Enhancement Incentive – P5,000 not earlier than Dec 15
6. Premium Contribution
o Starting July 2022, 4% premium rate deduction
• Open Forum followed especially on Tax Deductions.
• The session ends with a photo opportunity plus the launching of the One
Agham Cloud by Sir Florencio B. Dayag, OIC. The One Agham Cloud is
an online drive which stores all documents and reports related to
curriculum and project implementation of the science department.

3. Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers

• She shared that teachers are duly licensed professionals who


possess dignity and reputation with high moral values as well as
technical and professional competence.
• She highlights on the role and limitations of the teachers such as
engagement to the promotion of any political, religious or other
partisan interest, and shall not directly or indirectly solicit, require and
collect or receive money or service or other valuable material from
any person or entity for such purposes (Art. 2, Sec 5). She further
highlights that teachers should not use his position to influence a
person to follow his political views.
• She also discussed Article 3 (The Teacher and the Community)
especially the participation of teacher in community affairs (sec. 2)
and shall behave with honor and dignity at times and refrain from
activities such as gambling, smoking, drunkenness and other
excesses, much less illicit relations. (sec. 3) She also mentioned that
every teacher shall help the school keep the people om the
community informed about the school’s work and accomplishments
as well as its needs and problems (sec. 5).

• Teachers shall also extend counselling services in matters affecting


the welfare of the people (sec 6). Teachers shall also maintain
harmonious relationships with government officials (sec 7).
• She also shared Article IV- the teacher and the profession where in
every teacher shall uphold the highest standards of quality education
(sec. 2) thus it is considered as the noblest profession (sec. 1). A
teacher may help the school to seek support for the school when duly
authorized (sec. 4).
• When the best interest of the learner, the school or the profession is
at stake in any controversy, the teachers shall support one another
(Art. V, sec.1) and shall and organize records and other data to his
successor before leaving his position (sec.3). He shall not divulged
information not yet officially released (sec. 4).
• She also highlights that a teacher shall not make false accusations
against superiors especially under anonymity (Art 6, sec 2). She also
highlights that no school officials shall dismiss or recommend for
dismissal a teacher or other subordinates except for cause (sec.4).
• The Teacher and the Learner (Art.8) is also discussed by Mrs.
Pacamalan. Under no circumstance shall a teacher be prejudiced nor
discriminated against by the learner (sec.3) and shall not accept
favors or gifts from learners, their parents, or others on the behalf in
exchange for requested concessions, especially if undeserved (sec.
4) nor shall accept renumeration from tutorials other than what is
authorized for such service (sec. 5).
• Also, in a situation where mutual attraction and subsequent love
develop between teacher and a learner, the teacher shall exercise
utmost professional discretion (sec.7). He shall not inflict corporal
punishment (sec. 8) and shall ensure that the conditions contributive
to the maximum development of learners are adequate (sec. 9) He
is also expected to maintain cordial relations to parents (Art. 9) and
may engage to business so long as it does not affect its profession
(Art. 10). He must not financially interested in any commercial
venture which furnishes textbooks and other school commodities in
the purchase and disposal, except only when his assignment is
inherently related to such purchase and disposal (art. 10, sec. 3).
• She also discussed that a teacher shall live with dignity in all places
at all times (Art. 11, sec. 1)

4. Reflection
• Mrs. Catherine Balubal shared her reflections on the talk of ma’am
Gemma Pacamalan. She said that “May we not only memorize the
code but also practice professionally the ethics. Let us practice what
is imbued in the code of ethics for professional teachers”.
5. Examination of Teaching Commitment and Work Ethics
• Mr. Florencio Dayag wrapped up all the topics that had been
discussed in the sessions of the GAD. He focused on the delivery of
the Basic Education Services and Work Ethics.
• He summarized it by using the acronym STAR. Showcasing
Competence, Teaching with a Heart, Always on the go, motivated,
Responsive to Duties and Responsibilities.

III. ADJOURNMENT
Having no more other issues to settle, the meeting adjourned at exactly 3:30 PM.
