WE ARE HIRING - ESTATE SERVICES MANAGER
WE ARE HIRING – MAINTENANCE MANAGER
Purpose of the role- The Maintenance Manager is responsible for management of the Mechanical Workshop & Garage Workshop to ensure high standards of machinery & fleet maintenance are
achieved.
Accountabilities
Production and planning
▪ Carry out regular inspections of the company transport fleet, out-growers, or third-party
vehicles.
▪ Implement Company policies and WCM in the garage.
▪ Prepares and avail transport fleet for statutory inspection and calibration for legal
compliance and safety integrity.
▪ Schedules and implements preventive maintenance for the all the fleet and service
equipment.
▪ Implements Garage machinery procedures and SOPS and ensure compliance by the
team.
▪ Attends to vehicles breakdown to reduce the downtime and losses.
▪ Implement Good Services Bay and Workshop Practices.
▪ Monitor equipment key performance indicators for efficient operations; generate
periodic reports.
▪ Verify and consolidate daily, weekly and monthly administrative returns.
▪ Keep and ensure accuracy of documentation for all machinery in the garage.
▪ Initiates and implements improvements in the garage machinery in liaison with the
Manager.
▪ Carries out regular/routine inspections and maintenance of the machinery in the factory.
▪ Prepare and implement Machinery Maintenance Schedule for all factory machinery and
utilities.
▪ Installation of new processes & machinery within the Factory and the Workshop
▪ Takes charge of machinery modification and supports the implementation of WCM in
the factory.
▪ Takes charge of engineering requirement & maintenance of utility services
Quality
▪ Implements Quality and Consumer safety Management System in the factory.
▪ Takes responsibility for maintaining, availing and setting the service and transport fleet
to the required standard to support delivery of quality made tea.
▪ Implements the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) in the transport
fleets.
▪ Initiates and implements quality improvements in the garage.
Assets and Stocks
▪ Updates asset inventories records for the section.
▪ Maintain Inventory and asset register for the whole factory machinery.
▪ Prepares and avail machinery and equipment for statutory inspection and calibration for
legal compliance and safety integrity.
▪ Maintain and take responsibility for the Factory tools.
▪ Monitor and validate factory workshop and service bay related stock movements in
conjunction with the store clerk and factory management.
▪ Ensure the day-to-day operation and smooth delivery of procedures of service
machinery (transport fleet, water pumps, tractors, grass cutting equipment) in the factory
and villages.
▪ Monitor fleet/equipment key performance indicators for efficient operation; generate
periodic reports.
Qualifications and Skills Required.

Finance, logistics and supplies
▪ Ensure that the factory workshop and garage’s expenditure and operational controls
are in place.
▪ Requisitions and verifies quality of spares and materials ordered for factory as per
technical specification.
▪ Ensures that the Workshop’s expenditure controls are in place.
▪ Submits inputs into annual revenue & capital budgets.
▪ Provides technical specifications for the procurement of all stock e.g., spare parts.
▪ Carries out cost management in the workshop and garage and ensures effective
controls.
People
▪ Train & develop all staff and ensure good industrial relations in the garage and
workshop sections.
▪ Plans, allocates, and supervises the work of the garage and workshop maintenance
teams.
▪ Train & develop all personnel in the Workshop and production operators on process
equipment management and safe operating procedures.
▪ Handles employee industrial relations and maintains discipline in the garage and
workshop in conjunction with the line manager.
▪ Implements employee establishment in the garage and workshop.
▪ Implement agreed welfare programmes and attend planned meetings ensuring
completion of agreed actions.
▪ Responsible for the garage and workshop teams and ensures that agreed work plan
targets and standards are implemented.
▪ Provide input and participate in the modular training of factory employees.
Safety, Health, Environment, RA
▪ Authorizes issues and closes permits to work certificates in line with company SHE
policies.
▪ Implements standard operating procedures and specific work instructions and
proposes reviews.
▪ Prepares all the fleets, workshop, and service equipment to meet all the safety and
environment requirements.
▪ Implement service equipment guarding to meet ekaterra standards.
▪ Coordinate implementation of safe operating procedures and specific work
instructions.
▪ Maintains the garage and workshop personnel reward/disciplinary and safety data in
liaison with the Manufacturing Manager
▪ Implement the safe travel guidelines and policies in the factory and the adjacent units.
▪ Provide input and participate in the modular training of factory employees.
