A. Review
 Ask the students to brainstorm the different types of
professional correspondence they know. Write their answer in
the chalkboard.
B. Motivation
 Show a sample resume and ask students what they think are
the unique features of a resume. Discuss their answers as a
class.
IV-LESSON PROPER
A. Activity
 Divide the class into groups and give each group a job
posting. Ask them to create a resume for that job using the
guidelines provided in the K to 12 Curriculum Guide.
 Have students exchange resumes with a partner and give
feedback on how to improve the resume.
 Ask students to create a cover letter to accompany their
resume.
B. Analysis
 The teacher will gather the work of the students and she will
check it each groups got the correct answer.
 Discuss as a class the different types of information that
should be included in a resume, such as personal information,
educational background, work experience, and skills.
C. Abstraction
 Our topic for today is about the Composing Professional
Correspondence such as: Resume, Application for College
Admission and Application for Employment.
 Explain to students the importance of tailoring their resume to
the job they are applying for and the importance of presenting
themselves professionally.
D. Application
 Since we are done discussing about the Composing
Professional Correspondence. The teacher will be going to
give students a real-life problem related to the objective, such
as creating a resume for a job they want to apply for.
 Have them present their resume to the class and explain why
they included certain information.
V- EVALUATION (5 minutes)
 Write your answer in ½ crosswise. Identify what is asked in the
questions below.
1. What are the unique features of a resume?
Answer: Personal information, educational background, work
experience, and skills.

applying for?
Answer: To show the employer that you are a good fit for the
position.
2. What should be included in a cover letter?
Answer: Introduction, explanation of why you are interested in the
job, and a closing statement.
3. What is the purpose of a resume?
Answer: To showcase your skills and qualifications to potential
employers.
4. What are the requirements for composing professional
correspondence?
Answer: Tailor your resume to the job you are applying for and
professionally present yourself.
VI-ASSIGNMENT
 Ask students to create a resume and cover letter for a job they are
interested in applying for. They should use the guidelines provided
in the K to 12 Curriculum Guide.
