ST VINCENT DE PAUL WINTER APPEAL 2020

The collection date is
Wednesday, 24 June 2020
We are urging you to donate: canned food and packet food such as:
rice, pasta, tuna, baked beans, or anything else that is non-
perishable.
Toiletries are also needed such as: soap, deodorant, tissues,
toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, hand cream,
moisturiser and even cosmetics.
The Covid-19 pandemic has caused many to lose their jobs which is
putting more strain on families this winter.
Please support those in need during the cold winter months.
Together we can do heroic things.

MUSIC NEWS
I am pleased to advise that our regular school music ensemble program will commence from Week 1, Term 3.
This has been a challenging time for all of us, and it is natural that during this time we have not been as
connected with our normal practice schedule as usual. As such, attendance at our rehearsals
will be essential from Week 1, Term 3 if we are to make significant progress.

The Music Department Staff are looking forward to working with you as will build our
momentum towards our Annual Speech Night and Concert. ~ Mr Ohl

MCC WINTER RUGBY LEAGUE AND FOOTBALL TRIALS
Great news boys. MCC Winter Rugby League and Football season will go ahead next term,
albeit in a shortened season.
The season will go from Week 2-5 with our only selection trial on the First Thursday back in Term 3.
Remember, there is no longer any after school trials or training for MCC Teams.
If you are interested in trialling, please register in the GOOGLE CLASS listed below.
Remember your team will be the age you turn anytime in 2020 so if you turn 15 anytime in 2020 you

 ACCELERATED READER
We are almost at the end of Semester One for Accelerated Reader (AR).
As explained to you earlier this year, there is an expectation that ALL Year 7 students should be
regularly reading and completing Accelerated Reader quizzes.
Your Semester One AR Targets should be achieved by the end of Term 2.
Many boys are yet to complete ‘The Happiest Refugee’ (class text) as part of their AR.
URGENT: please see the Teacher Librarians or your RISE teacher for help with Accelerated
Reader,
if you are unsure.
Each day the AR code changes, so you just need to ask for the code and then complete your reading quiz.
Congratulations to those boys who have already achieved their Semester Target.
