1 RHUB5961 Description
The RRU HUB (RHUB) converges CPRI data from remote radio frequency (RF) modules. It
provides the following functions:
Receives downlink data from the baseband unit (BBU) and forwards the data to pico
remote radio units (pRRUs), and forwards uplink data of pRRUs to the BBU.
Supplies power to pRRUs using power over Ethernet (PoE).
Connects to pRRUs through Ethernet cables.
1.1 Exterior and Physical Ports
This section describes the exterior of an RHUB5961 and its physical ports.
1.2 Version Differences
This section describes the version mapping information and application differences of the
RHUB5961 in different versions.
Silkscreen Description
CPRI0 to CPRI3 Optical ports for signal transmission between the RHUB and
the BBU, or between cascaded RHUBs
EXT_ALM Dry contact alarm port for monitoring alarms of peripheral
devices
MON Port for monitoring peripheral devices
CPRI_E0 to Used for data transmission and power supply between the
CPRI_E7/PWR0 to PWR7 RHUB and the pRRU
AC power socket Used for AC power input
Ground screw Used for connecting to PGND cables. A PGND cable using a
one-hole OT terminal must be connected to a ground screw
on the front panel.
Power Consumption
For the RHUB, the no-load power consumption and half-load power consumption are measured at an
ambient temperature of 25°C (77°F); the full-load power consumption is measured at an ambient
temperature of 60°C (140°F). A 10% deviation from the actual measured value exists. These power
consumption specifications do not include power consumption arising from pRRU power supply. The
actual power consumption depends on factors such as the number of connected pRRUs, number of
configured carriers, cable types, and cable lengths.

a: In single-operator scenarios, RF input is not supported in LTE.
RF combination enables one cell sector equipment group to have one LTE or NR carrier on one or more
RF modules. The RHUB performs RF combination on uplink signals, and replicates and distributes
downlink signals.
