ASSESSMENT
FACULTY OF BUSINESS AND MANAGEMENT 

1. TEST 1 (20%)
i. Chapter 1 – Chapter 4
ii. T/F (20) & MCQ (20)
iii. WEEK 6 (45 MINUTES)

2. FINAL TEST (30%)

i. Chapter 5 – Chapter 8
ii. T/F (15) & MCQ (15)
iii. SHORT ESSAY (2)
iv. WEEK 14 (95 MINUTES)

3. GROUP REPORT (30%)

SUBMISSION:  WRITTEN REPORT (DUE 9/12/22)
INSTRUCTIONS:
i. Students are required to form a group consist of 5 to 6 members.
ii. Identify any CURRENT ISSUES related to Human Resource Management
in or/and outside Malaysia (e.g., a shift towards remote and hybrid work
models) and discuss with the lecturer on the issue selected.
iii. Once approved, each group needs to further explore about the topic and
gather as much information by referring to journal articles, reports, and
other relevant documents. Find and read from various resources (at least 10
difference references) and should be referred and include in your
bibliography.
iv. Discuss and elaborate the issues by highlighting:
a. Factors lead to the issue concerns
b. Effect/Impact from the problem
c. Data/Statistic available)
d. Explain the existing solution to manage the issue (e.g.: Solution from the
government/institutional)
e. Suggest new solution according to your knowledge and information
gathered
f. Analyse the solution (existing & new) by comparing the advantages &
disadvantages of each.
g. Finally, choose the best solution as a recommendation to mitigate the
issue and state the reasons.
 v. Write a comprehensive report about the issue and your report should at
least comprise of:
• Preliminary Materials (cover page, table of content)
• Introduction of the issue (what, where, when, how, who,
statistic)
• Factors lead to the issue concern
• Effects/Impacts from the issue
• Solutions (existing & new)
• Analysis of the issue
• Recommendation & justification
• References
• Rubric (fill up related info)
• Ouriginal report (similarity report - Plagiarism is a serious
academic crime)
vi. The report should be 15 to 17 pages, including references.
vii. Keep in mind each student will be evaluated individually on their
responsibility, ethics, integrity, and professional appearance during
presentation. Therefore, assign the task carefully as each member need to
contribute significantly in order to deliver presentation later.

4. GROUP PRESENTATION (20%)

PRESENTATION DATE: WEEK 12 – WEEK 14
INSTRUCTIONS:
i. Your group is required to prepare a formal presentation based on the above
group report.

ii. Each group member needs to present based on their INDIVIDUAL TASK in the
written assignment.

iii. Each student will be evaluated individually on their responsibility, ethics,

integrity, and professional appearance during presentation. Therefore, each
presenter needs to highlight their task for group report, explain the findings
together with a list of references referred to and present professionally.

iv. Total time for presentation is between 30 -40 minutes for each group. Please
manage your time effectively to ensure each group members have compatible
time to present.

v. Each group needs to compile and submit (before presentation):

a. Printed slides

b. Table of rubric for each group members & individual original report
