‘BOTTOM PAINT
‘We use only the best Gelcoat on all aur boats. Gelcoat is
‘only 2 cosmetic hull coating, and prolonged imursion in water
‘may lead to asmatic blistering of the Gelcoat surface. The
Pathfinder 2200.V Tournament Edition is not designed for pro
longed stays in the water uniess the boat has been professionally
bottom coated and protected witn an epoxy and ant-fowing paint
barrier coat. See your local Pathfinder Dealer for alist of products
‘and bottom coating professionals in your area
GARBOARD DRAIN PLUG
‘The screw-in Garboatd Drain Plugis is the small metal
plug located et the bottom of the transom that allows the bilge
‘area to arain when the boat is notin the water. tis designed so
that it can be easily removed, but can be tightened so that it will
‘ot easly fall out. Once the boat is out of the water, the Garboard
‘rain Plug can be removed with a wrench to allow the bilge area
to drain completely. Excess water in the bilge may be an indica
tion of automatic bilge pump failure. See page 2 for information
‘on your boat's bilge systems,

Pathfinder Boats advises owners that maintenance and
repairs should be performed at an authorized Pathfinder Dealer. The
folowing information is general in natute and should not be consid

Compary,
BILGE SYSTEMS
The bilge of your Pathfinder 2200:V Tournament Ecition
‘should always be chieoked after iaunch. A small amount of water in
‘the bilge is normal for ths area of the boat. Large amounts of water
‘or ary signs of fue! or oll requires immediate attention. Never pump
fuel or cil overboard while your boat is in the water.
PM
Large quantities of water in the bilge may he an indication of
‘leak, or that your bilge pump is jammed, broken or has blown a 5
‘amp fuse. First, check that your bilge pump is running. Turn the
‘switch on and listen for the bilge pump to turn on. Ifthe bilge pump
{does not come on, check your fuse box to make sure the pump
hasn't blown a fuse: Ifthe fuse is damaged, replace it and turn the
‘switch on again, listening for the bilge pump to come on.
If the fuse isin working order, make sure the pump is turned
Off, then unnook the bilge pump from is cradle by squeezng we
biue tabs on the sides of the pump and lifting, The entire bilge pump
‘snd wiring should release from the cradle. Check the undersice anc
impeller areas for miscellaneous items that might clog the pum.
Coe
‘TRIM TABS
‘Tim tabs are a standard item on the Pathfinder 2200-V
Tournament Ediuon. We use external 12 X 12inch Lenco electric
‘im tabs which can greatly enhance the boat's performance.
Because the tabs are eleciic, tere is no tlm tab pump, and the
possibility for fluid leaks or ass of pump service as with other trim
tad manufacturers,
Tam tabs allow the boat operator to get the maximum per
formance trom the boat, and are also great for balancing weight in
‘the boat and for lifting or lowering the hull to accommodate for cffer-
ent running situations.
Your port trim tab switch will greatly affect the port side of the
boat, and the starboard switch will affect the starboard side
although they are operating tabs on the opposite sides. For instance
lonering the port trim tab creates stern it on the port side, thus low
ering the starboard bow. Raising the starboard trim tab lowers the
stem on the starboard side and Its the port baw. Use the tabs to
‘adjust the attitude of the boat so that it sits evenly, and to raise oF
loner the bow to control running performance.
Lignty tap the tabs with your fingers to allow the boat to
‘adjust in response to the tats without a dramatic change. Once the
bow has lowered or raised to the point the ride has been adlusted for
comfort and safety, tapping individual tabs can further imorove the
overall effects,
Pushing on the top of the switch (Down), will lawer the trim
tab and force the bow down, which is important for running throug
heavy seas or a stiff chop. In most instances, both tabs should be
lonered for an even bow dawn ride
Pushing the bottom of the switch (Up) wil aise the tabs and
liftthe baw out of the water, for better running performance. To
‘achieve the best running performance with your Pathfinder 2200.
‘Tournament Editon, use the engine trim in conjunction wath your tim,
‘abs to find the perfect amount of lift for a safe, comfortable ride
In cases of severe weather or high winds, i's possible to use
Yyour trim tabs to lift the windward side of the boat to avoid spray
blowing back onto the passengers. Do this in conjunction with lower:
ing the bow to improve the overall ride.
Pr aeFUEL SYSTEM
Your Pathfindr 2200.V Taurnament Edition comes with @ 60.
gallon polyethylene fuel cell stationed midship between the stringers
just below and in front of the console. The fuel fill receptacle is on
‘he port gunwale forward of the console. Thete's also a recessed
fuel overflow vent on the port side ofthe boat just below the fuel
receptacle.
We pressure test each fuel system when itis initially received
‘at the factory and unt it leaves the factory 2s @ component on a

FUEL AND WATER SEPARATOR
Each Pathfinder 2200-V Tournament Ealtion is equipped with
« fuel water separator to ensure maximum performance and protect
‘he outboard engine from contaminated gasoline. The fuel separator
is a metal ofindrical unit secuted to the transom section of your
starboard aft rigging box
‘The fuel separator can be checked by removing it from the
‘mounting bracket in the rigging box and dumping it into an approved
waste collection device. I there appears to be an excessive amount
of water, the fiter component shauld be changed. See your author
ized Pathfinder Dealer for replacement parts,
In addition, the fuel seoarator should be changed s part of

Items such as monofilament, plastic, racks and small clumps
of debris can easily clog the impeller and prevent the bilge pump
‘rom operating correct. Should you find a clog. remove the item.
and tum the pump switch to the “on” position. If the pump runs,
turn the switch “off.” and retun the pump to its cradle.

local Pathfinder Dealer for bilge pump replacement
Ifthe bilge pump is working, and pumping water, but the
{ator level in the bilge does nat go down, you likely have a leak
\whicn requires immediate attention. Remove your boat rom the
water and see you local Pathfinder Dealer to have the bilge area
inspected for pssibie leaks.
Fuel or oll leaks also require immediate attention. Be sure
to check for fue! or ol leaks frequently and repair ary problems
immediately. Any replacement of parts or repairs tothe fuel sis-
tem should be performed by a trained marine mechanic. See
‘your authorized Patnrinder Dealer for parts and repalr.
Use bilge cleaner products to remove any obvious stains
or to clean debris material that may collet in the bilge over time
Consult your Authorized Pathfinder Dealer for recommended
types of bilge cleaners.
Panera re)CLEANING
Each Pathfinder Boat is constructed using the finest mater:
als and components available. However, no material immune to
the ravages of the saltwater environment. After each use, your bast
‘should be ringed thoroughiy with fresh water. A mild detergent may
also be used to remove any dit, silt or stains. A ligt coat of lub
cant on metal raling, screws, and electrical connections wil hs}p
prevent electrolysis. The seme holds tue for your Vaile.
M sYSTEMS
The livewell system on your Pathfinder 2200-V TE takes water
through our exclusive Sea Chest system. Water enters the Sea Chest
through the narrow openings in the bottom of the boat.
‘A shut off valve isin place snould there be a leak in the sys
tem or so that you can clean the fit while on the water, Should
‘you tun your pump on, and water does not come into the IWewel,
‘check to make sure the filter's nat clogged, thus preventing weter
flow into the system. To clean the filter, turn the shutoff valve to the
90-degrees off position, unscrew the fiter and pull out the screen.

“The dual activation switches are set in a standard grid, with
the top accessory switch dedicated to your release well and the bot
tom accessory switch for any accessory installations. The second
‘switch isthe livewell 2 switch, which runs your forward Ivewell sys:
tem. The bottom of the second switch is a'so for accessories. The
third switch runs ivewell 1. your central aft Ivewel. and the bottom is
for aocessories. The fourth switch is for an optional recirculating
pump, should you elect to have that option installed in your livewell
system. The blige switeh is an on-demand switch to run your bige
pump, and is used as @ backup in case the float indicator in your
bilge nump becomes clogged. Again. the bottom switch is used for

Prop selection on your Pathfinder 2200,V Tournament Edition
is determined by your local Pathfinder Dealer, but based on reoom.
mendations made by Pathfinder Boat Company and Yamaha Marine
‘tm gve your boat the maximum overall performance. Different prop
‘designs may improve performance, or can be tallored to enhance
‘specifics of boat and motor performance.
For instance, a prop with a smaller pitch will increase speed
‘out of the hole jumping onto plane), but will produce @ decreased
‘overall speed compared to a prop with a larger pitch. Four or five
bladed props may increase overall speed or allow the boat to run
shallower, and some props can decrease cavitation at high speeds.
Your individual prop needs will determine the prop design and size
that best fits your performance requirements,
‘Always inspect the engine and prop prior to launching your
boat. Key prop issues include tangled fishing line or other types of
‘cebiis, lacked blades oF fluid leaking oUt of the seal. Look for tsi
ing line tangled around the peop or lower unit seal. Consult your
‘Yamaha Owner's Manual to address these issues.
JACKPLATES
‘A jackplate Nas been installed as a standard item on your
Pathfinger 2200-V Tournament Edition to improve shallow water per
formance. Jackplates allow the motor to be trimmed straight up as
‘opposed to the angled trimming of the stock engine trim motor, thus
allowing more prop area to remain in the water while running,
Jackplates have very specific applications and performance
requirements. Before operating your boat. carefully review your
Jackpiate Owner s Manual and your Yamaha Engine Manual
“*NOTE-The installation of a hydraulic jackplate greatly
increases the amaunt of stress on the back of the boat. For this rea
‘son, we recommend all boats rigged with jackolates should also
have a transom saver or other transom supporting device to min
mize the sess on the entre tansom area. Transom supporting,
‘devices can be purchased from your local Pathfinder Dealer or boat-
ing and trailer supply stores. Failure to use one of these devices
‘could jeopardize your boat warranty.
