I. INTRODUCTION
The seminar aimed to explore the potential of machine learning and deep
learning techniques in predicting the kinematic and force of human upper limb
movement using muscle activity. The presenter, Mr. Anam, a professor of
computer science at the University of La Salle, started the seminar by providing
a brief introduction to the topic and its relevance in the field of rehabilitation
and prosthetics.
Mr. Anam then proceeded to discuss the basic concepts of machine learning
and deep learning, providing examples of various applications in different
fields. She explained how machine learning and deep learning techniques can
be used to analyze large sets of data and extract meaningful insights, making it
possible to predict the kinematic and force of human upper limb movement
using muscle activity.
Next, Dr. Anam discussed the various approaches and techniques that can be
used to develop models for predicting the kinematic and force of human upper
limb movement using muscle activity. She provided examples of different types
of models, including linear regression models, neural network models, and
support vector machine models, and explained the pros and cons of each
approach.
III. OBSERVATION
During our webinar, I observed that our speaker was knowledgeable about
the topic. They were able to answer questions at the end of the seminar and
were interested in learning.
IV. RECOMMENDATIONS / SUGGESTIONS
Attending this webinar would not only enhance my knowledge on the subject
matter but also provide an opportunity to interact with experts in the field.
Furthermore, the insights gained from this webinar could potentially benefit my
future academic and professional endeavors. Overall, attending webinars is a
valuable way to expand one's knowledge and network, making it a worthwhile
investment of time and effort.
#2 NARRATIVE REPORT
I. INTRODUCTION
On March 17, 2023, I attended an online seminar entitled "RF Systems for
Biomedical Applications." The seminar was conducted by the University of La
Salle via the Zoom platform and was presented by Alfredo B. Satriya, ST, MT.
The seminar aimed to explore the potential of radio frequency (RF) systems
in biomedical applications. Mr. Satriya started the seminar by providing a brief
introduction to the topic and its relevance in the field of biomedical
engineering. He discussed the different types of RF systems and their
applications in various medical fields.
Next, Mr. Satriya discussed the basic concepts of RF systems and the
principles behind their operation. He provided examples of different RF system
architectures, such as single-ended and differential, and explained the pros and
cons of each approach.
After the theoretical discussion, Mr. Satriya provided a practical
demonstration of the application of RF systems in biomedical engineering.
He demonstrated the use of various RF systems, such as microwave ablation
systems, for the treatment of cancer and other medical conditions.
III. OBSERVATION
During our webinar, I observed that our speaker has enough knowledge
about the topics he is discussing. At the end of the seminar, they have also
question and answer to voice out some questions regarding the webinar or in the
field of Engineering. I also observed the willingness of every individual to learn
about this exciting topic.
IV. RECOMMENDATIONS / SUGGESTIONS
I suggest that they have at least provide a handout for us to understand every
detail so we could just focus on the listening to speaker. They can also provide
some PDF files so everyone can have notes and they can use soon.
#3 NARRATIVE REPORT
Speaker: Engr. Richard R. Matias, Mr. Roy D. Prado and Mr. Mark James Leyson
I. Introduction
On February 25, 2023, I attended a webinar entitled "What's New with IoT."
The webinar was conducted by Terra Hertz Company via Zoom and was
presented by Engr. Richard R. Matias.
Next, Mr. Leyson discussed the latest trends and advancements in IoT, such
as edge computing, artificial intelligence, and 5G connectivity. He explained
how these technologies are enhancing the capabilities of IoT systems and
enabling new applications in areas such as smart cities, healthcare, and
agriculture.
Mr. Prado also discussed the challenges and limitations of IoT, such as
security and privacy concerns, interoperability issues, and data management
challenges. He provided examples of best practices and strategies for addressing
these challenges and ensuring the successful implementation of IoT systems.
Throughout the webinar, Engr. Matias engaged the audience through interactive
polls and Q&A sessions, encouraging participants to share their own
experiences and insights. He also provided practical tips and recommendations
for organizations and individuals looking to implement IoT solutions.
In conclusion, the webinar was a valuable learning experience, providing
insights into the latest trends and developments in the field of IoT. The
presenter, Engr. Richard R. Matias, was knowledgeable and engaging, and his
practical advice and recommendations were helpful for individuals and
organizations looking to implement IoT solutions. I believe that the knowledge
gained from attending the webinar will be useful for my future work in the field
of IoT and related technologies.
Here are some of the latest trends and advancements in IoT (Internet of Things):
8. Wearables: Wearables are IoT devices that are worn on the body, such as
smartwatches, fitness trackers, and medical devices. They are becoming
increasingly popular in healthcare, fitness, and wellness applications.
9. Smart Cities: Smart cities use IoT technology to optimize and manage the
various systems and services that make up a city, such as transportation,
energy, and waste management. Smart city applications can enhance the
quality of life for residents and improve the efficiency of city services.
III. OBSERVATION
In our webinar, I noticed that the speaker was well-versed in the subjects
being presented. The session ended with a Q&A segment, allowing participants
to ask questions related to the webinar or the broader field of engineering. I also
noticed that everyone was eager to learn more about this fascinating topic.
My suggestion is for them to provide a handout that includes all the details
so that we can concentrate on listening to the speaker. Additionally, they could
offer PDF files for attendees to take notes and use later.
