1. State your general research topic or problem stating the main purpose of your study.

The purpose of this study is focus on three areas such as adjustment, challenges, and
effects of having a broken family in academic performance of the Grade 10 students of
Lake Shore Educational Institution. The first is adjustment, to know how students
adjust to their academic performance while experiencing broken family. The second is
challenges, to know what the challenges are they faced on having broken family. The
third is effects, to know how does broken family effect the academic performance of
the selected Grade 10 students.

Specific Problem:
1. Compose questions related to your research topic.
2. Minimum of 2 questions per output/student.
3. Make sure those questions that you are going to list will be part of the scope of your
study.
4. Make a strategic plan on how you are going to answer your research questions like in
the example in our research hand out. Please see the picture below:

a) How does broken family affect the student’s academic performance?

b) How you handle your academic performance while experiencing broken family?

c) What are the challenges you faced on having broken family?

d) How you adjust to academic performance while experiencing broken family?

e) What is the possible way to overcome family problem that you encounter to maintain

their academic performance?
