Introduction
Many Students need help communicating and talking to people. Students have
many talents but need help showing them to others. Elective classes can increase the
learning time and improve the literacy achievement of middle school students, though
some students don’t find interest in elective courses, others find elective classes helpful
have a hard time showing them to others so the help of adults or teachers is needed.
The teachers as well as the parents have a hard time communicating with the
students, although they have to help the children to boost their confidence without
getting them uncomfortable. Parents should help their child/children to know about their
talent more than before, However, they try to respect their child’s privacy. They have to
assist the child so that the child can know that he/she is not alone in facing the public.
They think that the students require help to Improve and let others see the student's
talent.
Students at a young age have a hard time learning about their talent. The
have very excellent talent. With elective classes, students can take courses of what
they’d like, for example, Journalism, Arts, Cooking, Math, Research, etc. Choosing
electives is also a way to make yourself stand out when applying for college. Elective
classes may also increase the self-Esteem of students in the class they choose.
Everyone has a talent, but just has trouble showing it. But with patience, and building up
much work to do which makes them stressed. You may always try to get help from a
friend or family so you may get motivated and help with the rest of your work.
The problem of too many distractions. Try distancing yourself from distractions
like games, social media, and more to focus on what you're doing. Both games and
social media can get you very distracted and lose focus on your work. They may also
experience difficulty in concentration. Sometimes what you're doing is just so boring that
you lose concentration, start staring at a blank wall, or even start something else.
Another reason for loss of concentration is when someone invites you to do something
else with them and ditch your work. Try to get a friend to do some activities together to
help each other out so you can concentrate. Self-Esteem is quite the problem when it
comes to students, they can feel things like being the lowest in the class, having difficulty
in socializing, always overthinking, and always thinking they're stupid and helpless. Don't
force them too much, just like when trying to get to know an introvert trying to get to
know them more and they’ll feel comfortable socializing with you, this doesn’t only
happen to upper grades but middle schoolers as well. If you are struggling with
understanding the topic, you can always try and push yourself to ask the teacher or a
friend, just remember not to push yourself too hard, like a crayon, push on it too hard

Research Design
The study used of different methodologies to gathered information and correctly
address the problem. Descriptive-Quantitative Research had been befitting in this study
regards in the research problems. Observing the information of the analysis and
congregating the survey of the sample population, this kind of research design were
useful in this research study for that it will be easier for the researcher to gather more
data on the impacts on different kinds of elective classes provided by the school.
This study was conducted at Bixby Knolls Preparatory Academy, Inc. (BKPA)
located in Brgy. Loob, San Antonio, Quezon. BKPA is a 7-year-old private school which
caters Nursery to 12th Grade students. The respondents of this study were Grade 7 to 8
who were enrolled in different elective classes from the stated school. The respondents
answered a survey questionnaire for the researcher to collect the needed information
Research Instrument
The instrument used in this research study was a self-made survey questionnaire
to collect more data about the impacts of elective classes to middle school students’ self-

Research Procedure
The researcher was given a topic for study and turned in the work. Then, it was
approved by the assigned teacher. The researcher modified the conclusions after
obtaining approval and corrected the areas in which there was room for enhancement.
The researcher started working on this study in August 2022 and accomplished it in May
2023. Because the researcher chose to question the Grade 7 and 8 students, the
survey questionnaire was filled out by the respondents via paper and pen.

Conclusion
1. A student of K-12 education, choice has always played a significant part. They can
choose freely on what electives they will be joining according to their interest and talents.
2. Based on the data gathered, electives classes have positive impacts to the
students and these can help the child to hone their talents.
