preparation of works specifications for both the enabling works and fabrication of the new RoRo linkspan.
Queens Wharf, United Kingdom: This project involved the assessment of existing mass gravity concrete and brickwork quay walls
for use within the foundations of a new residential and commercial development. For this project I assisted with the initial
condition survey and subsequently undertook the structural and geotechnical (sliding, overturning, and bearing) assessment of
the quay walls for various proposed demolition/construction stages. I also supervised site investigations including coring, ferro
scanning and a GPR survey to establish unknown dimensions (thickness) for sections of the quay wall.
Manchester Ship Canal Scour Damage, United Kingdom: This project involved the review and assessment of noted damage to a
sluice and revetment structure in order to determine/confirm the cause and develop an appropriate repair concept. For this
project I analyzed historic river flow and rainfall data as well as sluice operation to establish that the noted damage was as a
result of scour due to excessively high-water flow. I also prepared concept options (sheet pile wall, revetment, concrete mattress)
to repair/replace the noted damage considering the more onerous design conditions established.
Lots Ait Marina Safety Audit: This project involved undertaking a safety Audit of Lots Ait Marina on the River Thames to satisfy
licensing stipulations from Statutory Authorities. For this project I assisted in conducting the audit which reviewed the general
safety of the marina against compliance with both local legislation and best practice recommendations.
Nov 2010 – Sep 2011: BJS Chartered Civil & Structural Consulting Engineers (Cork)
Graduate Civil Engineer.

• Site Supervisor for the construction of numerous reinforced concrete structures including culverts and foundations.
Notable Project (non-exhaustive):
PepsiCo Culvert Construction Works, Ireland: Site engineer for the construction of a reinforced concrete culvert storm water
culvert and associated works. A key challenge to this project was the management of water flow through the culvert location
during the construction.
Aghada Pier Refurbishment, Cork Harbour, Ireland: This project involved the refurbishment of an 18th century masonry pier to
facilitate its use for work vessels and leisure craft. For this project I undertook an initial review of the pier’s condition, developed
a scope of works, prepared specifications, and contract documents for tender.
PepsiCo Inspections, Ireland: Condition and safety survey of transparent roof lights on warehousing and production facilities at
PepsiCo’s Little Island and Carrigaline production centres as well as high a review of the general safety of the traversable roof as a
working platform for the aforementioned facilities.
Cork City Council Residential Subsidence Project, Ireland: Responsible for the inspection and surveying of nine properties,
creation of the scope of works for each property and tender assessment.
Clonmel Flood Relief Project, Ireland: Responsible for the condition survey of approx. 150 properties and structural survey of
approx. 30 properties in advance of construction of new flood defenses through the centre of Clonmel town.
Mallow Flood Relief Project, Ireland: Responsible for the condition survey of approx. 20 properties and structural survey of
approx. 5 properties in advance of construction of new flood defenses through the centre of Mallow town. This project also
included vibration monitoring and reporting at key locations considered sensitive throughout the works.
