About ISOLITE
The diatomaceous earth is natural insulation material and buried in Noto peninsula,
located in central Japan. The material was used for very limited usage such as a
cooking stove and fire place in the 17th century, "shogun period" in Japan.
ln the early 20th Century Dr. Tosaku Yoshioka, Kyoto University recognized the
impoftance of the diatomaceous earth for industrial use.
Mr. Gen-nosuke Mori, a businessman in Osaka was sympathetic to the idea of Dr.
Yoshioka and established the company named ISOLITE in 1927.
It was facing The Great Depression, 1929. -)
ISOLITE tried to improve the quality of products, and in 1951 succeeded to develop

high quality cray-type lnsulating Firebrick and obtained as the first certified factory
of Japan lndustrial Standard, JIS of lnsulating Firebrick.
ISOLITE is the standard of lnsulating Firebrick and thermal insulating materials
including Refractory Ceramic Fibers, Alkaline Earth Silicate Wool and Polycrystalline
Wool in the past and for the future.

SUPER BOARD, SILICA BOARD
I lntroduction:
Made by a unique production method with calcium silicate as its main ingredient, SILICA BOARD and
SUPER BOARD 6eriea are lightweight and thermally very eflicient. Compared to regular insulating tirebricks,
the advantage of the size substantially improves its installation efficiency.
Particularly, SUPER BOARD L is made from "activated slurry" through the process of so-called hydrothermal
synthesis method to make it super lightweight with its bulk density under 0.155 g/cms.
SILICA Board and SUPER BOARD series with water.repellent finish (surface only or entire body) are available
depending on your applications.

I Typical Applications
Back up lining of insulating firebrick, firebrick and/or ISOWOOL lining of various industrial lurnaces such as Hot
Stove, Reheating Furnace, Soaking Furnace, Electric Furnace, Atmosphere Furnace, Oil Heater, Ceramic Firing
:. Kiln, lncinerator, Boiler and Duct.
