Millets and Their Health Benefits
Date: 5 April 2023 Duration: One day
Participants: 25 Students of MBA Rural Management, Gujarat Vidyapith, Randheja

The year 2023 has been declared as the Intemational Year of Millets by the United Nations to
create awareness and increase production and consumption of millets globally. A workshop for
millet awareness was conducted by EIACP RP CERC.

+ Millet cuisines of India and a few ways in which
millets can be consumed,
+ Quick research to find traditional and tribal recipes
of millets along with the yields and types of millets
found in different districts of Gujarat.

awareness about millet.

Greenmosphere for LiFE Workshop
Date: 21-22 April 2023 Duration: Two days
Participants: Students from Greenmosphere clubs (45 students plus teachers and parents)
Faculty: Ms Anindita Mehta, Ms Anusha Iyer and Ms Divya Namboothiri
CERC set up Greenmosphere Student Clubs in 30 schools in Ahmedabad in July 2022 with the aim of
educating school children about energy saving and energy audits etc. Awareness and hands on activities
have been conducted throughout the year. A year-end event was organised to recognise outstanding
performers of these clubs. Students were also familiarised with Mission LiFE (Lifestyle For
Environment). The event was an important step towards the Greenmosphere aim of creating
Conservation Ambassadors.
Topics and Activities
+ Students were divided into three groups and each group was senkifised about one of the three broad
topics of Mission LiFE - (i) Save Energy & Save Water,
(ii) Adopt Sustainable Food Systems & Healthy Lifestyles,
(ii) Minimise e-waste, Reduce Waste, Avoid Single Use Plastics
By the end of the workshop each student had to think and come
up with creative Advocacy ideas
+ Know Yourself - An activity-based session where students
would understand their current status vis-d-vis energy and
water conservation/wastage, knowledge about food and
nutrition.
+ Audit Challenge - Students had to identify events in daily life
where energy or water is wasted which helped them understand
the importance of energy audits.
+ Develop a Story - A group activity to teach students the
importance of team work which is essential for a successful
advocacy campaign.
+ Speak your mind —A short speech by each group aimed at
helping students to think and prepare arguments for their
advocacy topic.
+ Preparing Advocacy Communication.
