Answer:
1. How did the light and sound affect the performance?
What - Concert was significantly impacted by the stage lights and sounds. Their
goal is to match the lighting and music to the show's content in order to provoke
the appropriate emotions in the audience.
When - They used the light and sound to help create an ambiance and a feeling
of time and location for the theatrical productions performed in Urinetown.

Why - The light and sound work together since interference occurs when two
waves of very similar frequency and amplitude occupy the same physical space.
Where - The light was used most of the time to show the characters in the play
and sound was also used in background first and then when they were singing
they needed the music to support their lyrics.
How - Since both light and sound have the power to prevent our conscious
thinking and have a direct emotional impact on us, they are potent tools that
event planners can use to their advantage.
2. Did the costumes compliment the actor scenes and setting of the play?

What - yes! The costumes complimented the actors since it was on point and that
is what made the musical play interesting.

When - Every character was able to portray what they are playing with their
clothing. For example; The police officer was able to get an officer’s uniform, grandpa
was able to get a matured or elderly Dress to represent that he is old.

Why - The costumes complimented the character because they were able to tell by their
actions during the play about what type of character they were playing.

Where - During the entry of the policeman the audience was able to tell that he is a
police-men which is where the costume complimented him and everyone knew he was a
policeman.

How - During each scene every actor was able to allow the audience to know who the
character is through their costumes.
3. Did the directors make the audience feel the emotions of the play?

When
During the play actors where able to

4. Did the directors make the audience feel the emotions of the play?
Why(did the director make the audience feel the emotions of the play)?
The director made the audience feel emotions because

What(emotions did the audience feel)

Since it was a comedic production the characters are going to have to act out funny
scenes throughout the play which will make the audience laugh with joy .

How(did the director make the audience feel emotions)?

When(did the director make the audience feel emotions)?

6. How did the sets and props designer work together?

What (did the sets and props designer do with each other)?
They communicated to ensure that the play is able to get the necessary props for each
scene. They were able to put in props like cleaning equipment to make the play more
realistic.
When (was the relation used)
They work together in each scene including where the public restroom is the main
focus. Even in scenes like Chadwells office the set still stays the same despite the prop
which is good because in plays it still focuses on that story.

Why(did they work together)

They needed to work together to make sure the play still makes sense to the audience. If
they had not collaborated the proper equipment would not have been allocated for each
scene or to match the set.
Where?
The interaction takes place in every scene. Even if the background does not change it is
still maintained to tell the main story or idea. They could have used more props in order
to make the play more interesting.
How(do they interact)
The set and props designer both communicate effectively in order to identify which
props needed to be bought or made which correspond with the background. The
background depicts a public bathroom and the 2 cleaners in the background are using
equipment related to the theme of a restroom.

7. How does the sound designer incorporate audio into the play?
What (audio do they incorporate)
They incorporate scores in almost all aspects of the production. In the music the scores
that are included are added there to match the overall feel or vibe the play is meant to
feel which is like a classic musical performance.
When
They incorporate the scores mainly when the choreography occurs in some scenes like
the exposition and Act one finale.
Where
They incorporated it when choirs or singing and choreographers occurs and when the
scenes are fading out.
Why
They add sound to make it more interesting for the audience. It was also added to follow
their genre of theatre, Musical Theatre.
How
He/she incorporates audio into the play by mapping out the sometimes he/she is
supposed to play the sounds and by knowing when the choreographies occur or when
the scene fades out.

8. Did the set manager make the background more realistic?

What(did him/her use to to make it more realistic)
He/she used a vocabulary term, Amenity, for the public restroom which is officially
coined to make it seem like a normal restroom and numbers to make it seem more of a
realistic setting.

When
He/ She partially makes it more realistic. It is realistic in scenes where the restroom is
meant to be the setting but in places like Chadwell’s office it is not realistic.
Where
It is made realistic during scenes where the restroom is the setting. It shows how the
people want to enter the restroom.
Why
He/ She made it more realistic to allow the play to feel more natural. Even if it wasn’t
his/her intention it still puts emphasis that this is the main story.
How.
He/ She made it realistic by adding a brick wall and a restroom door that can be opened
and closed. He/She collaborated with the props manager to add more detail to some
scenes and to make the experience better.
9. Can the production be a success if the house manager fails to do his job?
What - yes! Because the house manager’s duty was to be responsible for the smooth
operation of the performance during the run of the show. As seen in the UrineTown:
The Musical play.
When - The house manager was able to do their job easily and smoothly which made
the production easier.
Why - The house manager couldn't be a success because if the house manager fails to
manage their job badly it can affect the production and might also permanently close
their doors.
