Date: May 23,2023

I. Objective: Name the unit of measure for measuring the volume of a cube and
rectangular prism.

II. Subject Matter: Naming the appropriate unit oof measure used or measuring the volume of a cube
and a rectangular prism.
Materials: Flash cards (mm, cm, dm, m) real objects, pictures, PPT
References: Code- MSME-IV C-78
TG-pp.27-31
LM 4th quarter-pp.13

Integration: English, Art

III. Procedure
A. Preliminary Activities
1. Song/ Energizer
2. Greetings
3. Setting of Standards

B. Developmental Activities

1. Drill: Choosing the appropriate unit of measure

(Game: “KOREK KA BA DYAN”)
-The teacher will give the mechanics

2. Review: English Integration

What is a cube? What us rectangular prism?
What is the difference between cube and rectangular prism?
What is the similarities between the cube and rectangular prism.
What are the dimensions of a cube and a rectangular prism?

3. Motivation (Showing a picture)

What can you say about the picture?

What is she holding?

C. Developmental Activities
4. Presentation: (Presenting a problem)
 Pupils will read the problem on the screen.
 Present a picture of rectangular box.

Ask:
a. How can we able to measure the capacity of the box?
b. What operation will you use? What do you think are we looking for?
c. What unit of measure will you use?

5. Discussion
Showing a picture of a cube filled with blocks
What can you say about the block? What are the dimensions?
How many blocks that will fill the cube?
What is the volume of a cube?

Say: The total number of the blocks that will fill the cube represents the volume of a cube
When finding volume, the units of measure are cubic units.
For farther discussion refers to LM 4th quarter pp. 13

6. Activity
What unit of measure will you use to find the volume of the following?

a. Shoe box
b. Container Van
c. Store room
d. Match box
e. Milk box

7. Group activity
Group I- Give the appropriate unit of measure to be used in finding the volume.
Group II- Draw an object that represent the unit measure of cm3, dm3, m3, mm3.
Group III- Roam Around List at least 5 things inside the classroom and give the unit of
measure to be use.

8. Generalization
What do you call the capacity of things or the total space within a 3-dimensional figure?
What are the unit of measure will you use in measuring volume?

9. Application (Pick Me UP)

Use m3, dm3, cm3, mm3 to tell which cubes unit of measure is appropriate to be used.

IV. Evaluation
What appropriate unit of measure will you use to find the volume of the following:
(Select from the given choices – m3, dm3, cm3, mm3)

1.

Dice
2.

Bus
3. Long
Envelop

Swimming
4 pool

5.
Milk box

V. Assignment
What unit of measure wiil you use to find the volume of these objects?
1. A soap of box
2. Match box
3. Wall cabinet
4. A piece of domino
