What is the Behavioral Fit

Interview?
The behavioral interview - often referred to as
behavioral fit interview or personal experience
interview - is an integral part of the management
consulting application process. Itis typically
conducted alongside the case interview.

Behavioral interviews are designed to assess

whether applicants possess certain traits thatfirms
are looking for. Therefore, understandingwhat these
traits ae first key step.

The next step would be to prepare answers that

show you actually possess those traits. Preparing
examples that demonstrate these skills/traits are
the best way to prepare.
These examples should not just be any story, but
something you can speak about at lengthand able to
answer many follow up questions.You should also
be ready to share specific details and actions within
the example.

We recommend having 3-4 stories preparedin the

bank and these examples would be stronger if it
can be molded into showing a range of different
skills, this will prepare you for a wide variety of
questions thrown at you.

When coming up with stories think of them as either

success stories, failure stories, leadership stories
etc. Typically, traits suchas leadership &
teamwork, proactivity & entrepreneurial drive
often go hand in hand.

Although it is already widespread and commonly

used, the STAR method still stands as the best way
to framework forinterview answers among
successful applicants. Your examples should be
structured using the STAR method.
