 Juneteenth, Part 2
The newest federal holiday, Juneteenth National
Independence Day, celebrates the end of slavery in the
United States. But at the state level, governments vary
considerably in whether they commemorate it as an
official holiday, a day of observance or something in
between.
In Glasgow, Montana it is being celebrated by the
Post Office, banks and the Valley County Courthouse,
among other county offices, so you know what that
means.

The good ole days

Do you ever wonder who the area teams played in
the past? Who did Nashua or Glasgow or even Hinsdale
play? And, what were the mascots? A Nashua High
School graduate was wondering or couldn’t remember
what the teams and mascots were that the Porcupines
played.
Back in the good ole days Nashua was in Class B in
the 1960s, which this NHS alum graduated in that area,
the Porkies, as we were called back then. Now it is as
politically correct as the Porcupines.
Nashua was in a conference, and I’m not sure if it
was Eastern B or what it was, where the Porkies played
the Baker Spartans, Circle Wildcats, Fairview Warriors,
Plentywood Wildcats, Poplar Indians, Scobey Spartans
and Wolf Point Wolves.
Glasgow Scotties were in the Eastern A, where they
played the Billings Central Rams, Glendive Red Devils,
Laurel Locomotives, Miles City Cowboys, Hardin
Bulldogs and Sidney Eagles.
Hinsdale Raiders were in District 3C where they
played the Frazer Bearcubs, Saco Panthers, Whitewater
Penguins, Dodson Coyotes, Turner Tornadoes and
Hogeland (mascot ?).
Ophiem Vikings were in District 1C where they
played Peerless Panthers, Flaxville Cardinals, Outlook
Blue Jays, Westby Rangers, Antelope Phornhorns and
Medicine Lake Honkers.
The District 2C had Froid Cardinals, Culbertson
Cowboys, Bainville Bulldogs, Brockton Warriors,
Richey Royals, Lambert Lions and Savage Warriors.
Back in 1945 District 3 Class B had teams from Nashua,
Saco, Malta, Frazer, Hinsdale, Opheim and Wolf Point.
In 1922 it was Glasgow, Malta, Poplar, Scobey,
Plentywood, Saco, Wolf Point and Culbertson.
Which mascot is used the most? Bulldogs (9) and
Panthers (9). Tigers (6), Pirates (6), Eagles (6), Warriors
(5), Rams (5), Braves (5), Wildcats (5), Mustangs (5),
Falcons (4), Trojans (4), Wolves (4), Lions (4), angers
(4), Spartans (3), Vikings (3), Hawks (3), Indians (3),
Cowboys (3), Cowgirls (3), Red Devils (3), Cardinals
(3), Broncs (3), Huskies (2), Bears (2), Cougars (2),
Coyotes (2), Longhorns (2), Wranglers (2), Raiders (2),
Knights (2), Blue hawks (2), Rebels (2) and Bruins (2).
Some of the originals would be Nashua :Porcupines,
Harlowton Engineers, Glasgow Scotties, Laurel
locomotives, Augusta Elk, Turner Tornadoes, Chinook
Sugarbeeters and Anaconda Copperheads,
How many schools used the feline family? There
are 28. 20 use the canine family, 19 our feathered friends,
14 the equine connection, six the bears, six the bovine.

Developing Story: IRS/ATF Raid on Great Falls Gun Store

by the ATF in advance of an
operation that apparently
took place at a Great Falls,
Montana business earlier
this week.
Montana Congressman
Matt Rosendale (R-MT02)
called out the federal
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco,
Firearms, and Explosives for
what he described as a raid on a
Great Falls outfitting business.
Rep. Rosendale: I’m incredibly
disturbed by initial reports that the IRS and
ATF closed Highwood Creek Outfitters without any
warning today. This is yet another example of the
Biden Administration weaponizing federal agencies
to target and harass hardworking Americans. We
cannot allow Biden to continue expanding these
agencies to infringe on our liberties.
KMON Radio in Great Falls earlier shared an
update on their Facebook page stating that they had
contacted both the IRS and the ATF:
KMON: Both the IRS and ATF would not say
why they were there. A spokeswoman for the IRS
would only say they were there on official IRS
business. The ATF says it was providing assistance
to the IRS. We attempted to enter the store today
and were stopped by agents at the door who would
only say that the gun store is closed and will reopen
tomorrow.
I spoke with Montana’s Attorney General
Austin Knudsen (R-MT) on Thursday morning.
He said he hasn’t gotten any information from the
ATF regarding this news. He talked about the need
for federal agencies to coordinate with local law
enforcement, especially the county sheriff.
AG Knudsen: The sheriff is the highest elected
law enforcement official you have in your county, I
mean- that’s just the bottom line. The sheriff ’s need
to be looped in on these things and then they need
to know what’s going on.
AG Knudsen also talked about how the
Montana Department of Justice has a very good
working relationship with the DEA here in
Montana. They’ve also worked with some
good local ATF agents on some cases.
AG Knudsen: I hate to say
this, but this is this is part of a
pattern that we’re seeing with
ATF now...I can tell you in
my time as a county attorney,
local ATF assets were usually
very helpful and very good
in some firearms cases, theft
cases, certain prosecutions.
But I think what we’re starting
to see here is, there’s obviously
been a change at the top in DC.
It’s taken about two years for that
to trickle out to the regional offices.
And our regional headquarters for the ATF
is in Denver. I think we’ve got new leadership in
Denver who is now pushing- Steve Dettelbach, the
head of the ATF in Washington, DC- we’re starting
to see them coming to Montana, going door to door,
looking for forced reset triggers, looking for some
of these things that they’ve suddenly deemed to be
illegal machine guns, even though we’ve had no no
law change from the Federal Congress. So this is
very concerning stuff...

Letter to the Buzz
Obedience is key
I was playing Bible Roulette this morning (I ask
God, “What should I read?” then close my eyes, open
the Bible and start reading), which is not encouraged,
but I’m “different.” I opened to Ezekiel 12.
Ah, Ezekiel... the prophet who prophesied by
example and very few words, aka The Weird Prophet. He
was only weird because he practiced radical obedience
to God.
Here’s an example: Ever heard of Ezekiel 4:9 bread
that you can buy in the grocery store? Here’s the passage
after chapter 4, verse 9, which tells Ezekiel what to do
with that bread... Ezekiel 4:12, “You are to build a fire
of dried human excrement (poo-poo), bake bread on
the coals (packed, dried poo-poo), and eat it (Bread a la
Poo) where everyone can see you.”
Humiliating!
If I were Ezekiel, I’d be like, “Uh, Lord, what’s behind
door number two, because I need another option here!”
But Ezekiel wasn’t like me, and his only complaint
to God was that he had never defiled himself before; and
eating Human Poo-Smoked Bread would’ve done the
job. It’s hard to believe Ezekiel did this without whining
about the other stuff he had to do while making this
bread: Ezekiel 4:4-5 “Then lie down on your left side,
and I (God) will place on you the guilt of the nation
of Israel. For 390 days you will stay there and suffer
because of their guilt. I have sentenced you to one day
for each year their punishment will last.”
Poor Ezekiel, over a year, bedridden eating bread
baked on poo (God granted Ezekiel’s request and

it was to get the glitter out of my seats where the two

were sitting. Ezekiel had them beat 2,600 years ago.
Radical obedience!
I wanted to give you a little background about
Ezekiel, radical obedience, and its polar opposite:
Rebellion. Ezekiel 12 is about how God showed,
through Ezekiel’s example, that he was going to exile
the Israelites to Babylon (present day Iraq) because they
were rebellious and not obedient to God. God compares
rebellion to witchcraft btw. Witchcraft doesn’t come
from God, stop kidding yourselves Wiccans and earth/
ancestor worshippers.
God is jealous. God is creator of all, but we are
not all his children unless we accept the Son he sent
to us 2,000 years ago (Jesus). Making God in your life
anything except first place is rebellion, and he hates it.
He exiles the rebellious because nothing fixes rebellion
like being in a new town where nobody wants you... can

Hey, don’t let me discourage you, God gives near-
infinite chances for us all to be obedient to him. It’s one
good choice after another, and if you make a bad choice,
ask God for forgiveness, forgive yourself, and make the
next right choice. We can’t expect God to bless us when
we push him away with our rebellion. Just like a dad
wants to give his child gifts, but doesn’t want to reward
bad behavior. We have to get our behavior toward God
(and others) right so we can get blessed with what God
wants to gift us with.
Obedience is key. 1 Samuel 15:23 “To obey is better
than to sacrifice.”
