TEAMWORK
Volleyball & Basketball is all about teamwork, and we strive to foster teamwork at every level.
Coaches and volunteers hold joint planning sessions and cooperate to ensure that each game is a
satisfying experience for all participants. Players learn teamwork by the example set by the
participating adults.
Players will learn to work together and support each other during drills and games. During drills, your
child may be asked to play different positions and will thus discover the skills and responsibilities
needed throughout the team. Through the experience of practicing and playing with others, your child
will learn the importance of working with a team toward a common goal.
Yes, we even ask for cooperation between the teams competing during a game. All players greet each
other before games and congratulate each other after games, and also assist coaches and volunteers in
preparing for and cleaning up after each game.
As you attend practice sessions and games, you will make many friends among the other players'
parents. Although each parent is responsible for making sure their child has transportation to and from
games and shows up in uniform ready to play, please be willing to pitch in and help other parents and
volunteers as needed with rides, an extra water bottle, providing snacks for the team, and so forth.
Our teams may be competing against each other, but as individuals, we need to work together to make
sure everyone has fun.
