I. Introduction

Mathematics in the context of research refers to the systematic investigation and study of
mathematical concepts, theories, and their applications. Mathematical research involves
exploring and expanding the boundaries of mathematical knowledge, developing new
mathematical techniques and theories, and applying mathematics to solve problems in various
fields. In research, mathematics serves as a powerful tool for analyzing and modeling complex
phenomena, providing precise and quantitative descriptions of natural and social phenomena. It
enables researchers to formulate and test hypotheses, develop mathematical models, and derive
logical conclusions based on rigorous mathematical reasoning.

Mathematical research encompasses a wide range of areas, including pure mathematics, applied
mathematics, and interdisciplinary fields. Pure mathematics focuses on abstract mathematical
structures, studying topics such as algebra, analysis, geometry, and number theory. Applied
mathematics applies mathematical methods and techniques to solve real-world problems in fields
like physics, engineering, economics, and computer science. Interdisciplinary research combines
mathematics with other disciplines to address complex problems that require mathematical
insights and approaches. In mathematical research, scholars employ various methodologies such
as proof techniques, computational simulations, statistical analysis, and numerical methods. They
explore existing mathematical theories, seek to discover new mathematical relationships, and
develop mathematical models that can be used to make predictions and provide insights into
various phenomena.

Mathematical research contributes to advancing our understanding of the fundamental principles

and concepts that underlie mathematics and its applications. It plays a crucial role in developing
new technologies, improving decision-making processes, and finding innovative solutions to
complex problems. Mathematical research also fosters collaboration among researchers from
different fields, promoting interdisciplinary approaches and the exchange of knowledge and
ideas.

II. Statement of the problem

This study aims to investigate the weekly allowance of Grade 10 students in section
Jacinto. The study seeks to understand the amount of money these students receive on a weekly
basis, analyze their spending patterns, and assess the implications of their financial habits. By
examining the weekly allowances of Grade 10 students, we can gain insights into their financial
behaviors and provide recommendations for fostering responsible financial management among
adolescents.
Literature

The study investigates the relationship between financial literacy, financial education, and
subsequent financial behaviors. It explores how individuals' level of financial literacy and
exposure to financial education programs influence their financial decision-making and
behaviors. The research aims to provide insights into the importance of financial literacy and
education in promoting positive financial outcomes.(Fernandes, D., Lynch Jr, J. G.,
&Netemeyer, R. G. (2014).Financial Literacy, Financial Education, and Downstream Financial
Behaviors. Management Science, 60(8), 1861-1883).

The study focuses on examining the connection between financial literacy and attitudes towards
payday loans in Australia. It investigates whether individuals with higher levels of financial
literacy exhibit more cautious attitudes towards payday loans. The study contributes to
understanding the role of financial literacy in shaping individuals' attitudes and decisions
regarding short-term borrowing. (Goddard, J., & Lowe, S. (2017). Financial Literacy and
Attitudes to Payday Loans: Evidence from Australia. Economic Record, 93(302), 485-509).

The study investigate the financial behaviors of college students based on data from the
National Financial Capability Study. It examines various financial behaviors, such as saving,
budgeting, and credit card usage, among college students. The research aims to provide insights
into the financial behaviors and challenges faced by college students and offers implications for
financial education programs targeted at this population.(Xie, Y., &DeVaney, S. A. (2019).

III.Methodology
. to gather data for this study, a survey was conducted among Grade 10 students in section
Jacinto. The survey included questions about their weekly allowance and sources of income. The
collected data were analyzed to derive insights into the financial behavior of the students.
