I. OBECTIVES
Content Standard Ways of sorting materials and describing them as solids,
liquids or gas based on observable properties.

according to solid, liquid and gas.

liquid and gas found at home and in school. (S3MT-

school.
Skills Describe the proper ways in handling and using
materials at home and in school.
Attitude Show cooperation in the activities in each grouping.

A. Preparatory Activities What are the common products or materials found at
home or in school?

Example:

Are these substances or materials important? Why?


Could people live without these materials? Why?
What do you think would life be without these materials?

B. Motivation Post the picture on the board. Ask the class to describe
the two photos.

Precautions are essential for safety in using the materials


commonly found at home and in school. Never use more than
the amount listed on the label of the product.

C. Activity Before you proceed to the different activities, be sure you

read all the safety precautions before, during and after
the activity.
1. Be careful in handling glass wares.
2. Be sure to do the experiment with supervision
from your teacher.
3. Do not smell or taste any material especially if you
are not familiar with.
4. Use the materials with care for the purpose for
which it is intended.
5. Carefully follow the procedures.

The teacher will divide the class in three groups.

Group 1- Using meta-strips, the group will arrange the


jumbled letters into words. Then, give the meaning of the
word.
